Arreola is not totally without skills and his main asset is the fact that he's actually a prety fluid combination puncher, while Eddie's main defense mechansism is to block and lean back away from punches. So if Arreola can force him back to the ropes and throw those combinations, not all of his punches may land, but since Chambers is so upright and content on simply blocking punches, then enough will land to simply outwork the man.
I see we're thinking alike about that part...I think Chambers chin will hold up but can it hold up if he was to get careless and go on the defensive to long?...If this fight was to happen ASAP...I would lean towards Chambers due to their styles. Good overall post man!:good
Hype! Michael Grant, Davryll "Touch of Sleep Williamson," Dominick Guinn, Sam Peter and now Chris Arreola. I remember arguing with people here that Dominick Guinn wasn't the best Heavyweight in the World. Sam Peter was a better prospect than Arreola. The James Toney that Peter fought would totally humiliate the slow, crude Arreola.
I would agree with you if we're talking Toney 2 or 3 years ago...I think Arreola would beat Toney today...A couple of years earlier would be a different story.
Sam Peter was garbage. He was matched by Duva with C and D level opposition who also happened to have Glass Jaws so his KO would look good. Peter was a creation of Duva's match making. He has lost every fight where he fought a legit fighter.
That is what is going to happen to Arreola. Arreola is slow, easy to hit, crude, one dimensional, out of shape. Chambers would expose all these flaws.
Yeah, that is what I ment. I edited my post. The Toney that Sam Peter fought would own Arreola. I hate to use the word "own", but Arreola's slow ass bull**** would not have a chance and he would get counter punched all day long.
Arreola is not one dimensional. He doesn't do the same thing over and over again. That is someone one dimensional. Arreola is a thinker, I know it might surprise you, but he can adapt and change his tactics, I've seen him do it. He can hit you downstairs, upstairs, back and forth in a flash, and then rock you up with a great uppercut. He doesn't even tip off when he throws his uppercut, you don't know when its coming. His combinations are very good. Now, Arreola still might not beat Chambers, because Chambers is arguably the best hw with the ability to box. But, Arreola is not one dimensional. He looks sloppy sometimes, but maybe that is just his style that works for him. Arreola has some major pop, and anyone who fights him better get the chin ready, and get that boxing insurance ready too.
Arreola at 257 vs Chambers at 223 lbs I'll go with Chambers UD 12, (7-3-2). Arreola 240 vs Chambers 205 lbs is what it should be, but same result.
I really really believe Arreola is the more hungry fighter of these two. he would eat Chambers alive, I mean literally. he would eat Fat eddie like doughnut.
Thats pretty much what it boils down to for me. That said Arreola looks pretty damn hungry at 255. Eddie would take it if Areola doesn't get his ass in shape.
