Just Compare & Contrast The Styles... If Paul Can Deal with the weight issues they both bring problems to the table to one another.... neither of them have fought someone like the other... I think it would be very competitive...

This thread will go downhill quick.

Paul's stamina would work in his favor, but Calzaghe would muscle him all over the place and probably dominate him completely on the inside.

    Focus on Pavlik Walk.

I agree. Paul has a chin and Calzaghe is not known as a puncher; however, I think Calzaghe's ring experience, adaptability, and size SHOULD prevail.

But I too think it would be more competitive than people think.

That's true, but Paul is very adept at clinching.

I dont think the Fight would end up like that.... I dont think Paul would do himself any favors trying to turn it into a gun fest with calzaghe because calzaghe can slug at just a high volume as pw can....and joe would have the natural size advantage in teh fight... i think paul would try to catch joe coming in.... then lock him up and fight inside ... the reset the distance

lets not forget paul also has the height & reach advantage in this fight as well

    5'11 to 6'3
    73' to 82'
someone winning like 111-114 ish advantage joe c

No it wouldn't. Because, SPEED KILLS. PBF would kill Williams too.

I think Calzaghe would stop Williams in about 6 or 7. PW has never tasted a lightheavyweight punch and its hard to see what PW does better than Calzaghe.

I mean thats if we're talking about the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins, not the one who is retired and probably fat as hell by now.

I expect it to... everyone called me crazy when i was matching up paul with pavlik & jermain taylor before... now thats almost a reality

Right now i really have no foresight on what might happen with paul as far as his next fight goes because everyone who he wants is either busy or trying to make other plans...

I don't know if I'm willing to go that far when it comes to competitive.

I don't think Paul has the power to KO Calzaghe and he'd be completely out of his element if he tries to outbox Calzaghe.

The fight would be close because Calzaghe tends to gloat/showboat/give rounds away and with Paul's activity level, he'd steal a few of em. I don't think he wins but I don't think it's very close. I'd say 9-3-ish is probably a decent guess.

He did a much better job on Wink than I was expecting.

Calzaghe isn't a natural junior middleweight though, and he's obviously an entirely different kind of fighter from Winky. I'm laughing just typing that, Winky and Joe are complete opposites in the ring.

calzaghe is a big mofo on fightnight, 180+. the strength difference would be massive, calzaghe could comfortably bully williams around the ring.

there simply isn't enough reward in this fight for calzaghe to bother with. low risk, low reward.

Paul is a very good clincher. Then again Calzaghe took on a tremendous one in Hopkins so I doubt he'd be muffled by it.

Paul's best strategy would be to fight at Calzaghe's pace and once Joe starts to get fresh, use those opportunities to steal some points. Calzaghe dropped rounds to Sakio Friggin Bika that way.

ALSO stay off the ropes when Calzaghe throws 150 punches at you.
