I'd like to see him fight the loser of Abraham / Pavlik.

Not at all, I think Wright is still one of the top's in his wt division.
(Maybe a trip down to 154 would be the best bet)

I think inactivity, injuries and ego have put Winky Wright in the slow spin cycle that is journeyman.

I've suggested it once but I think it's a good fight for both guys....Winky-RJJ at 170.

Def. He has earned his dues. He was also coming off a big lay off.

absolutely not.... i think he still can compete with the best of 154-160 the style paul bought to the table was just horrendous

i mean match him up with some guys at 145 , 154 and 160

    winky vs shane
    winky vs margarito
    winky vs santos

i think he would win these fights ... if not win.. lose extremely competitively... i think he would compete very tightly with Pavlik even

    Yeah!!!

Unless he starts fighting boxers with less than 10 pro fights.

Why are you people so confident he can make 154 comfortably?

    Agreed.

It's really too bad for Winky that 160 is a wasteland.

Another option would be Lacy at 168, but Lacy probably doesn't want that fight.

Atleast RJJ is active, in shape and can punch, IMHO If Winky were fighting him instead of PW he still would've got a whipping. hes done.

You are right, He prob can't make 154lbs anymore...
But 154lbs would be a wt better suited for his size & Punching power
(or lack there of at the higher divisions)

    That's the only reason I say 154.

The sad thing is even though Winky looked bad in a loss to Williams, is coming off a 2 yr lay off and has been oft injured...he's probably the #5 MW in the world at this point.

Maybe he should fight Mustache Antonio Rubio.

I see your point if Wright was younger.

I've seen this opinion sprout up all over the place. Why would a 30+ year old fighter whose on the slide go down in weight to a division full of younger, hungrier fish? Specifically those who hit extremely hard?

He could make a killing at 160 against the dearth of also-rans in that division.
