I have no gripes with the fact that quintana beat pw fair and square... he fought beautifully and got out with the decision

    but when i see

if quintana could be pw then ______ would have an easy time with it

for those of you who actually took the time out to watch pw vs cq part 1... you will see that paul just wasnt there..... he tried to get back in rhythym but he just couldnt and the lack of focus was evident from the point that he stepped foot in the ring

    Rustico Torrecampo Beat Manny Pacqiauo
Freddie Norwood Beat Juan Manuel Marquez
    Clinton Mitchell Beat Bernard Hopkins
Hassim Rahman & Oliver Mccall Beat Lennox Lewis

Yes Carlos Quintana May have shown some of Paul Williams weaknesses but a lot of you are COMPLETELY over-valuing & over rating that victory

losses and hard fights are a good indicator of what a fighter does wrong and what his flaws are. When those flaws can be exploited by a guy on the level of Carlos Quintana to the point of losing 8 rounds then its normal to factor them in. I believe that Quintana fghts very well off the backfoot and is a good mover and that footwork threw PW off.

However i think that today PW has improved his headmovement and CQ would have a hard time connecting on him as much as he did a year ago and would eat some leather for it.

    Are you serious?

If so, did you watch the fight, that was a close fight. Not an ass kicking by any means.

yeah i agree with all that but people are just blurting bull****

if cq could do it floyd could do it
if cq could do it winky could do it
if cq could do it joe c could do it

all these guys fight COMPLETELY different styles.... if you going to speak about fights atleast explain your opinion... i gave 4 fantastic examples of atg's losing to guys they should have never lost to and it didnt impede there career.... they just had off nights

Because Quintana gasses out quickly and lacks a great defense. . But he was able to outbox Paul Williams over the course of 12 rounds.

& IMO a more aggressive fighter would've taken Paul out of there.

With that said, The Williams which fought Quintana is no where near the same caliber as the Williams that fought Wright. Non-Stop punches, True definition of punches in bunches, and Beautiful angles.

Williams has improved...but the same problems remain for the most part.

His head movement has improved, he still brings his hands back too slowly, he still is over aggressive at times and he still takes poor angles on punches.

The thing is much like another flawed fighter (Manny Pac), he's so aggressive and relentless that unless you're a finicky fighter with outstanding counter punch and workrate abilities, you're going to get eaten alive.

Guys like Calzaghe are all wrong for him though as is Dzinziruk.

Simply put, Quintana isn't that good of a fighter and the loss is fairly recent. Although Williams is improving rapidly, it doesn't mean the loss never occurred, nor does it mean nothing can be taken from the fight in terms of technical analysis.

Manny was a weight drained teenager collecting cigarettes and living in a cardboard box. Mitchell was Hopkins first damned pro fight.

Does it really make sense to compare Freddie Norwood to Carlos Quintana?

It's brought up because alot of people belive the key to beating Williams is thru using a Speed/Boxing counter style. But it is defo alot easier said than done.

Just out of curiosity...how many topics are you gonna create about Paul Williams? Is this something that can be expected from you every time he fights? Being a fan is one thing, but you sir are borderline obsessive.
