Wins. Really shows how fluid and unpredictable the sport of boxing is. Buster Douglas being destroyed by Holyfield after dethroning Tyson. Mosley nearly killing Margarito after he beat Cotto.
I'd say Roy Jones against Tarver, following his win over Ruiz - although that was actually two fights later, so I'm not sure if that applies here. You could argue Tszyu being stopped by Hatton following his impressive win over Mitchell. Frank Klaus was surprisingly stopped twice by George Chip right after finally unifying the middleweight title. Most people had felt the field was wide open for Klaus to reign as long as he wanted to. Don Curry getting stopped by Honeygan not too long after unifying against McCrory. Mike McCallum getting upset by Kalambay right after he himself had broken into the big leagues by upsetting Curry. Lennox Lewis getting KO'd by Rahman following a string of his biggest career wins, against Holyfield, Grant, and Tua.
It's not quite the same thing I guess but how about Duran quiting to Leonard after beating him in Montreal. Yeah he wasn't physically destroyed, but he was mentally. He went from probably the high point of his career to his lowest point in his very next fight.
Foreman losing to Ali after dominating Frazier and Norton. Spinks beating then losing against Ali. Morrer losing to Foreman having beaten Holyfield. Bruno losing to Tyson after beating McCall. The list is endless...
saddler upon winnign the FW crown in an amazing performance loses it in his first defence against Pep who wins in amazing fashion who then loses it back in a less than satisfieing pfight
Humberto Gonzalez by Sorjaturong after beating Carbajal twice. Boza-Edwards by Navarette after beating Chacon & Limon in thrilling wars.
Good one, that was a shocker. Navarette himself was then surprisingly KO'd by Limon a couple fights later, then Limon was beaten up by an old Chacon. Jr. Jones was shockingly KO'd by Kennedy McKinney coming off his big wins over Barrera and Canizales. McKinney then went on to be shockingly KO'd by Espinoza.
Arthur Pelkey after his KO of Luther McCarty, in which the latter tragically died. Don't believe Pelkey won a fight after that, and almost every loss was a knockout loss. Seven years later, Pelkey himself was dead. McCarty's death must have had an unbelievably devastating effect on Pelkey.
Rahman after Lennox, although that was hardly a suprise. Pavlik losing to Bhop one fight after beating Taylor the second time.
