Hamed was a REAL champion in a REAL division and beat skilled champions and challengers! I'm off to bed but let's compare resumes and skillset tomorrow shall we?

I watched them both come up

For me Hamed was more talented than Calzaghe - no question

But its not all about natural talent - in other ways Calzaghe has proven to be a more solid consistent winner than Hamed

    In terms of talent though

    Hamed was better than Calzaghe

also lets remeber Naz was a huge puncher too - something Calzaghe is not

Calzaghe was a real champion, eventually, in a real division. It's not fake or imaginary, he owned the belts.

Skillset will be no problem because Naz, as good as he was at what he did...is the definition of a one trick pony.

Just because Hamed choose to fight a certain way, doesn't mean that that was the only way he could fight. It took Hamed 3 years to clean out his division, took Calzaghe a decade. The mentality, and fighting heart of the two men, is as Jeff said, poles apart.

That works both ways my friend. He might have done it quick, but when he lost the first time he faced an elite he had one fight and then retired quicksmart. One could say he was a star that shined brightly, but not long. Where was his fighting heart and mentality when he retired after his first loss?

And no, Hamed fought one way and one way only - and that was relying on physically attributes purely. Had he had any more dimensions he would have put them to use when he needed to, against Barrera. Never was there a better time to show a different look, because that wasn't working.

Hamed proved his fighting heart by travelling to America at a very early stage, facing all the world title holders at the first opportunity and generally showing the type of hunger and ambition (and balls) that Calzaghe literally never showed. Calzaghe's career drifted sideways (I'm being generous) for the most part, and when push came to shove, he edged over the finish line with a couple of good wins.

Hamed was like any other fighter, he built his game around his best attributes. Hamed relied on one-punch power, in the same way Calzaghe relied on a uncanny amount of stamina, both are natural attributes, and both helped each fighter immeasurably over the course of their respective careers.

It's a well written piece so I'd like to say well done on that first of all. Unfortunately you've let yourself down by not doing suffcient research.

The vast majority of Joe's fights have taken place in England and the few that have been in Cardiff have nearly all been at the CIA. I don't mean to nitpick but if you looking to gain respect and build a reputation for the articles you write you're gonna need to pay a bit more attention to detail.

TFFP you clearly haven't watched any of Naz early career fights if you say he was a one trick pony and only boxed one way.
