I think he surpassed those 2 if you look at the big picture. He has clearly become more popular than both historically regardless of what huggers or haters think.
LOL in jin chi is the most avoided fighter of all time. I give morales props for taking that fight. hehehehe!
JMM's last real opponent was Juan Diaz, he was against the naturally bigger guy who had actually unified at the divison. He wasn't fighting David Diaz, big ****in' difference between those two. Come out with Your Pacquiao propaganda all day, I'll just tell it how it is. Manny's last real opponent was at 130lb, whereas JMM just knocked out one of the best Lightweights in one of the most stacked divisions in Boxing, hence why he is the P4P number 1. And guess what, there's not a damn thing you or Freddie Roach can do about it. :good Probably the same person, though.
I agree and disagree. JMM wins over Casamayor and Diaz are more impressive than Pacquiao winning againts D. Diaz and a shell of ODLH. In defense of Pacquiao, who would of thought Oscar would be what he was in that fight. Pacquiao had nuts in facing Oscar. Oscar was suppose to be a bigger victory than Cassamayor and JD combined but I guess he wasn't himself. Pac is still #1 even though for the mere fact that he beat JMM. This is from a guy that loves both fighters equally.
:|:|:|:| Keep on crying... :yep You were talking crap by saying pac is supposed to win against blah blah blah... Marquez was the favorite coming in against diaz, fact. :deal You should just stay away from pac topics coz a sore loser fan like you know nothing bout pacquiao, you just spill a lot of bull**** like it is the truth.
He was supposed to beat anybody they put infront of him. At featherweight he fought the 2 best Marco Antonio Barrera-featherweight king Juan Manuel Marquez-WBA-IBF Champ 130 he fought all 3 WBC title holders Morales Barrera Marquez 135 Diaz - a title holder and at the time rank # 3 lightweight in the world 140-Hatton undefeated at this weight 147-Delahoya-Dream Match- his biggest payday as a boxer
I think the wins over Casa/Diaz > DLH/D.Diaz too but not that much when you look at the prefight settings JMM was a 3 to 1 favorite over Casamayor and a 2 to 1 favorite over El Torito Pac was a 4 to 1 favorite over D.Diaz but a 2 to 1 underdog against DLH JMM's wins gets more due because of the competitiveness of his wins unlike Pacman's which were 1 sided beatdowns. Also JMM gets too much credit for his wins, for instance in 2007 JMM gets a lot more credit for beating MaB in a close competitive fight that has a legitimate case of being scored for MAB but Pacquiao gets practically no credit for beating the same Mab one-sidingly.
I know MAB inside out, and even the version Marquez fought was an absolute shell of when he was at his peak. No body work, couldn't maintain his work rate for 12 rounds, hence why Marquez swept the championship rounds, and he just looked really old. Styles make fights, and Marco since Salud has always fared better against counter-punchers and less aggressive fighters. The two fighters who gave him the most problems in his career were Morales and Pacquiao. At 126lb, Barrera would have beaten Juan Manuel Marquez when the two were in their prime, in my estimation. He was always quicker on the draw with his combinations, and not even Marquez threw better combinations than MAB did. That was his bread and butter, whereas in the Marquez fight, he only let his hands go during the last 10 seconds of every round because he couldn't maintain it for long. He was old, and where Marquez recieves mininmal credit for the victory, so does Manny. He ain't special.
Junior Jones barely won the rematch, and if you watch their first fight, Barrera didn't sustain a beating. It was a knockdown from nowhere, and his corner ****ed up by coming into the ring..even if the bell had already rung. Pacquiao and Morales were hurting MAB consistently.
finito, from what i recall, chi's camp was the one who did not push for the fight because chi at the time was planning his retirement and would transfer to MMA. can you give me a link about this pacquiao ducking chi or is this another one of your propaganda?
Dont bother, chi wouldnt even have made Pac's top 5 wins. Ducking. lol. Infact, after Hatton, he wouldnt even make top 10.
this guy can't tell chicken salad from chicken ****. i said PAC HATERS slag him off form "only" beating OLD MEXICAN LEGENDS. learn to read dip****.
Apparently you're trying to tell us that In Jin Chi was more "real" than Solis, Larios, Velasquez, Barrera, D. Diaz and Oscar? I'm not disrespecting Chi, he's one hell of a fighter. I love Chi's toughness and durability but what had he achieved in his career aside from winning a belt at feather?
