floyd should drop to 140 where he will still have a huge advantage. demanding the fight at 147 just helps to prove his detractors correct. floyd seems to have hit the lotto in the natural ability department but got short changed in the balls department.

Marquez would have to jump 2 divisions to meet floyd's demands, ridiculous.

Exactly......Mayweather would have a real significant advantage with the fight taking place at 140 lbs, but at 147 lbs, that advantage goes from significant to as you said, "HUGE!"

I'm hopeful that Mayweather will come to his senses and just is playing this weight game just to up the ante on the purse splits!

i say jmm fights floyd at 147 and take this chance even its fully unfair to jmm. if he somehow edges floyd, it would be too much embarrassment for the WW dude and his stock would rise to new heights. if he loses, its just ok because everybody would not give him a chance anyway. the important thing is he earned the biggest pay of his career.

Mayweather made it clear that he wants a tune-up first before going for a big fight and he also said he wants it on regular HBO and not PPV.

I don't know why people are throwing jokes and acting foolish in this thread when Mayweather his self made that clear. I never saw any of you talking on down on Margarito who made a career fighting tune-ups.

How does anyone know that Mayweather could even make 140 lbs.? He hasn't fought there in 4 years. Marquez is the one who called him out. Floyd has no obligation to drain himself to fight Marquez. If Marquez doesn't want to fight at 147, that's understandable. However, I don't see why Mayweather should have to drop down to 140.
