[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]WBA World Featherweight Champion Chris Johns Agent/Advisor Sampson Lewkowicz, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, President of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar de la Hoya and Los Angeles Indonesian Consul General Subijaksono Sujono meet on Monday in Los Angeles, California to discuss the promotion of Indonesian WBA World Featherweight Champion Chris John and his upcoming rematch against Rocky Juarez. The bout is slated to take place June 27 at the STAPLES Centre in Los Angeles. Long regarded as one of boxings most underrated champions, WBA featherweight champion Chris John showed the world just what he can do on the sports biggest stage when he battled Rocky Juarez over 12 exciting rounds in his United States debut on HBO this past February. John, unbeaten at 42-0-2 with 22 KOs, thrilled fight fans with his exciting style, as well as his grace when the 12 round draw verdict was announced. Now preparing for his second stateside appearance against Juarez, John is about to receive a promotional push from Golden Boy Promotions. Among the topics touched on during Mondays meeting were the plan to promote John not just within the boxing world, but also within the large and vibrant Indonesian community of Los Angeles, as well as the overall goal of having John follow in the footsteps of fellow Asian star Manny Pacquiao in terms of crossover international cross-over appeal. To help with these plans, John is anticipating a six week training camp in Los Angeles to prepare for his next bout. This will give the local media an opportunity to get to know the native of Indonesia better, allow John to get out into the Indonesian community in Los Angeles and to allow him to give new fans a chance to learn his story and about his home country. Chris John has always been one of boxings hidden gems, but now is the time to let him shine, said De La Hoya. His fight against Rocky Juarez was one of the best of the year so far, and his humble nature reminds me not only of Manny Pacquiao, but of fighters like Alexis Arguello, who are fierce combatants in the ring, but gentlemen outside of it. Were excited to join up with the Indonesian Consul General here in Los Angeles to let the world know about this undefeated superstar. :happy Only thing I didn't like about John in the first fight was his lack of body punching and his aim with the right hand but he did throw it every chance he had. Well that's why this is being made, so he can get more of a reach to the audience here. Marquez already has that but not enough to make it a big fight between the two, he needs John to also step in.
That was a good fight so I'm glad there's a rematch happening. The interesting thing is Juarez really tried for once...so while I didn't like the decision, I'll give him all the credit in the world for trying again.
I like Rocky Juarez in a Kermit Cintron-sense. The sort of guy who makes boxing fun even if he's not realizing it.
This fight should be in Indonesia this time. John can't get a fair shake in the States even as champion, as shown last time out.

They should have it on neutral ground like MSG or Canada or somewhere not in Indonesnia or Houston.
MSG ain't neutral ground it's in the States. Juarez's home country. He got the benefit of the dodgy hometown judges last time, it should be John's turn to fight at home this time.

Hence Juarez got some home cooking. I doubt judges in MSG will give two shits whether Juarez is from Houston or Tijuana.
