i scored pretty much every round for mayweather. i'd say the result would still have been the same regardless of who was the 3rd man. ray hatton could've been the ref, and floyd would still beat him.

Mayweather would have won anyway, Hatton may, may have gone the distance or at least not been stopped like he was.

No, but he might've lasted the distance.

Ricky would have gone the distance for sure. Cortez was PAID OFF. I really believe this after reading his post fight statement.
PBFs weight but I think PBF was very clever in the fight, much like a small Hopkins. Would Hatton have won at 140 with a different ref?

Why do people think Hatton would've went the distance with a different ref? Did the ref push him into that left hook? In every fight, Ricky charges in, throws leaping left hooks and leaves his right side completely wide open. Floyd was hitting him with that counter left hook all night. The ref had nothing to do with that. All the ref did was stop Hatton from cheating. That's right, grappling is against the rules.

If Cortez allowed Hatton to do what he wanted there wouldnt be any punches thrown just two guys hugging.

    no. hatton was outclassed.

i seriously doubt the fight would have gone any different if they changed refs AND dropped a weight class in a rematch..

    good point.

fouling is 'against the rules' in football too but sportsmen will always push the rules if it favours them.

there's nothing wrong with hatton, hopkins or anyone else grappling.
