You'd better be careful what you say, cuz i remember hatton saying that after he stopped castillo and mayweather made him pay dearly for that..

Good win for the Punisher, but let's put it in context, Winky is 37, hadn't fought for nearly 2 years and hadn't made middleweight in nearly 2 1/2. He is a massive unknown quantity at this point in time.

Not really. Winky was coming off a 2-year lay off, was smaller, older, and gave up too many attributes to be a real threat to Paul anyone could tell you that and I'll even hot link my pre fight post to prove it if you want.

And the beating of Margarito has been blown way out of proportion. Margarito has been revealed as a cheat who doesn't really have what it takes against a great technician plus his punches are accumulatory in nature and he didn't get a chance to tee off against Paul early on while Paul held significant physical advantages until far later into the fight when Marg began to get the better of the fight once he worked out Paul's style. Overall not a great win in my eyes -because Paul's height and reach give him definite advantages.

Pay attention: This doesn't mean I dislike Paul I think the man is truly great and a tremendous talent and he will go very very far but people here on ESB are riding this guy like he's the 2nd coming of Ali.
I think the man is fantastic but I'm also looking at him from a very grounded perspective; there's more roadwork for him to lay but the potential is definitely there.

    21 month layoff.

I wont even use age as a factor but Winky was coming off too long a lay off.

    Dumb move on his part.

PBF resume is not that good not to forget that he was a complete farce at welterweight.

"There not only isn’t an active fighter in the welterweight, super welterweight or middleweight divisions who could beat Paul Williams right now, there isn’t anyone who can reasonably be expected to come close." Kevin Iole Yahoo Sports

The point is, Williams has already beat 2 guys (Margarito, Wright) that Mayweather would NEVER fight.
If Floyd really wants a legacy, he should seek a fight at 147 with Williams.
Yeah, that fight with Corrales was really something, but it was years ago.
time to remind us all, nut huggers and haters, why Floyd is the best of our time. But that may be difficult now that Floyd is becoming the biggest cherry picker since Roy Jones.
