seriously, besides margo (who had some success), who has ever tested paul williams' body... this man is a freak of ****en nature, and it seems almost impossible to knock him out with a headshot, i think the body is gonna be the key !!! i would love to see him in there with kirkland, angulo or even a slickster with pop like santos....
Like you said Margo worked the body and tht **** still didn't work. Paul still took the last two rounds in my book.
Winky got in some good body shots as well. To work the body, you gotta get inside. Against Williams, you'll eat a lot of punches trying to get inside.
it was a close ****en fight IMO... but when margo did invest, especially in round 9 you can see paul williams really affected...but he's a ****en monster cause of the way he took the last 2 rounds.... it's gonna take a lot to beat this guy now that he's comfortable with his stlye and weight...
yezzir, round 10 was a beautiful round for boxing and winky...it shows what winky should've done since round 1, but thats easier said then done against a beast like williams...
Because head shots are so tantalizing, specifically on a fighter who brings his hands back soooo slow. Problem is unless you're a perfect marksman like Quintana was that night, you run the risk of missing and leaving yourself open for punches n bunches as one would say.
Imagine MOsley landing one of his classic left hooks to the body like the one he landed on David Estrada. A clean shot downstairs and he might have williams' shitting in his trunks in agony. Yup, somebody needs to test him to the body.. If mosley is having a hard time getting a fight, he should take on the most avoided fighter, mosley style.. William's body would be wide open for him and he's one of the most underrated body punchers.
An 8 -4 or 9 -3 fight isn't really close in my book, everyone I know had the fight scored these two ways. I think Paul can take the body shots as well as the head shots, but defensively he is getting better and taking less flush head shots and fighting tall enough to make people pay when they try to get to his body.
i had it closer then that, **** the night of the fight i had margo pulling it off i think a lot of pauls punches were blocked, but since he threw a lot, it was actually overlooked.....but thats another story
you would have to be either really fast, or willing and able to walk through the buzzsaw, otherwise you ain't gettin' inside.
