Why should we believe this is going to happen when he's said it 43 times before?

I think Meehan would be the right fight for Toney. Toney may even stop him if he's on.

I completely agree. As Meehan has no mandataory rights despite his high ranking, he might even consider fighting Toney. Then again, I doubt that it will ever materialize without DK taking massive options on Toney's future fights...

Toney should outbox Minto but at this stage he is as hittable as evere.

What happened to a potential clash with Tony Thompson? I know Thompson got injured but I though that was back on.

Mike Minto-James Toney is alright I guess. I have no faith in Tony doing anything other than squeaking by with a decision.

    Mike Minto?

...whose Mike Minto? Must've mixed up Mike Minter and Brian Minto...My brain no work so well.

I think even this version of Toney puts a beating on Minto. I don't expect he'll hear the final bell.

Well, Thompson has just boxed on the undercard of Vitali vs. Gomez, so I guess that Toney isn't on his radar any time soon... Also, Toney's recent split with Thompson's promoter Goossen doesn't give me hope that this match up might be back on...

How about Michael Grant, he is a respected name (just) with a decent record, and I am sure he could do with a payday, also he is ranked by the IBF

Yes, didn't think of him at first but Grant would be quite suitable too I guess. Given his height, such a match up would be a good indicator of how James would do against much taller opposition.

Just saw an interview from Toney on the scene that presents boxing. He looks good and is in shape. Toney is definitely ready for something. I would like tp see someone like Chambers, Areola step it up and face JT.

March to May isn't that big of a turnaround really. I think the Goosen split is the more likely reason though, spot on.

    How about Lamon Brewster?

If this fight happens, I expect Toney to win another controversial i.e. Bull**** decision in his hometown. Minto would probably outwork the lethargic fat boy at this point but it is doubtful the judges would give him the decision.
