LOS ANGELES -- Oscar De La Hoya announced his retirement from boxing on Tuesday, four months after his final bout ended in a one-sided loss to Manny Pacquiao.

"I've come to the conclusion that it's over inside the ring for me," De La Hoya said at a news conference.

His remarkable career including winning a 1992 Olympic gold medal and professional titles in six weight divisions. He also is the highest-grossing star in the history of the sport.

Yes, he did. Dan Rafael was talking about how people might look at him...and Raf was saying he still thinks he beat Trinidad. Dlh was a great fighter, and a man who ducked no one. This is the perfect time to retire. He does not have it anymore. Jones and Sugar did not learn their lesson, and hopefully Dlh gets it.

Oscar De La Hoya always was a greedy businessman more than a fighter. It's good that he stops boxing...:hi:
