Actually, I have to question why a young and prime fighter couldn't finish off a shopworn old man.

An old man who had not fought in 21 months.

An old man who had not won for 29 months.

In that 29 months, the old man had 1 fight at 170lbs and lost.

A nice 'name' on his record, nothing more.

Axe - You claim Winky is a better win for Paul because hes more skilled than anyone mayweather has faced.

So why are you getting mad at Floyd for fighting JMM who has far more skill than Winky or anyone currently active?

 

On the surface yes! Paul did beat one of the best fighters and most technically sound fighters in recent years....unfortunatley like Joe Cs win over Nard or Roy these men were older and past their best years which have to be put into perspective.

Not to mention Wink was not sharp partly to do with his inactivity and as a result some ring rust. While the win was OUTSTANDING it was not a better win than Floyd's win over a prime Corales or Castillo. It's up there but Pauls win would have been much more important had Wink been active and not coming off a loss. Either way Paul is head and shoulders abover where most of his peers are in terms of accomplishments and level of comp in the time he's been a pro.

Think about it. If Pac beats Hatton, that will have been two opponents Pac beats better than Floyd did...as if that matters lol. What would it look like to Pac fans if Floyd did the same thing by beating J.M.M-at 147? Maybe this is the thinking...I don't know:think
