No way how could you feel anything but sorry for Ali in his current state? He should have stopped with the hate when Ali started to show signs of this.
Frazier has always been one of my favorite fighters ever. The guy is a good guy, good christian man. I was so happy he floored Ali in the one fight that really proved who was better. Frazier proved he was better than Ali, and will always be better than Ali. He also proved Marciano would flooor and woop Ali too. Frazier even said that if he was able to get in there and get Ali, Marciano would have easily done it too. Ali deserves all the junk he has now, deserves it all. I don't feel sorry for him one bit.
If u want the best answer--it will come from Joe Frazier...hatred and resentment are highly personal and even to many informed people ..ther real reason may be something only Joe keeps to himself
The documentery is a complete one sided, biast, piece of crap, I mean at least show the other side a little bit, not one bit from Ali, except one guy I think. The documentarian knew making the film like this is going to cause more heads to turn than saying Ali is the greatest so he took this spin on it. I did feel more sorry for Frazier after this, but in the end he is just envious that Ali was a much, much greater fighter than he is.
If you were in Joe's shoes you would hate Ali too. Frazier did ALOT to help Ali after he was banned from boxing, but Ali labeled Frazier, a man who grew up poor and was the son of share -croppers an Uncle Tom which turned black America against Frazier, he was hated, his son got beatup in school, and he and his family were ridiculed and harrassed behind this, anyone who says it was just trash talk DOESN"T KNOW ****. I don't condone Frazier's behavior toward the sick Ali BUT you have to understand his situation.
atsch I guess labeling a hard working black-man who grew up poor as an Uncle Tom and turning Black America completely against him is not a good reason to be pissed off, dude seriously you have no clue.
I am merely expressing an opinion which we all have. I do agree with the other poster that as fans, the only thing we should really be concerned about is what they do in the ring. But as humans however, it is rather difficult to not feel the hurt Frazier felt Ali did to him OUTSIDE the ring.
what is wrong with you?? If you were not alive in 71, and I don't just mean a little baby, with your mama wiping your nose, you really have no business in this thread. But, its a free country, and you have already written your words, and so have I.
Well, not nothing but praises... in his most recent autobiography (last summer, I believe), he still claims Ali's corner poisoned him. :barf
I heard about that. What a tough position Foreman is in. If you say you were drugged or poisoned, then everyone thinks you are a sour grapes baby just wining. But, if the truth is in your corner, you need to tell the truth, no matter what people think. Foreman has even said he wanted to get out of the country just before the fight, and he was held at gunpoint to stay in the country and fight.
