I suspect Calzaghes votes are more to do with his unpopularity than his ability

People are pissed off that he has this "perfect" 46-0 and is regarded in such high esteem

While I agree that Calzaghe's legacy might be overrated somewhat

    I would put

Hatton and Eubank and Haye beneath him

Saying that its hard to assess Haye because he is still fighting and still got something to prove at the highest level

With Haye I see a really talented fighter - but with massive sloppy flaws

"Fraud" is a harsh word, but Hatton has the biggest smoke and mirrors career.

He never fought anybody that was a live threat unless all the money and glory was stacked in his favour. NEVER would he think about putting his applecart at risk against somebody like Junior Witter, or Miguel Cotto. He always waited until he was in a no lose situation.

In summary, his resume is sub-par and his skills do not impress me at all. I don't see anything impressive in him except brute strength, if he'd have fought better boxers in his career he'd have many losses.

    good post TFFP

I voted Eubank - because that long undefeated record had alot of smoke and mirrors too

He was given draws with Ray Close and Nigel Benn

and had very tight decsions against mediorce fighters

but Hatton and him are neck and neck I would say

I suppose arguments could be made against all of them actually, for varying reasons.

Flint the reason for any negativity was your original thread title

'Which top British fighter was or is the biggest fraud of the modern era'

Which fighter is the lesser great is far more reasonable as they all achieved highly in their careers.

How is a Pacquiao a no lose fight, you muppet?

It's at Hatton's best weight against a guy who started about 5 weights lower, Hatton will get hammered if he loses this fight.

    Hatton.
A British version of De La Hoya. A seriously manufactured and manouvred career.....and the kind of guy who blows his own trumpet with a load of bull**** facts.
DLH just claimed he won world titles at x weights, that included taking the WBO strap off Felix Sturm with massive help from the judges. He got whipped next up but the real middle champ at the time, Hopkins.
We ain't all stupid, just most.
