I have been on the official website for the Veltins Arena. They are selling the tickets for the Haye/Klitschko fight from Friday 17th April. The prices are listed as folows: Standing on terrace: 29 Euros Upper Tier: 39 euros Lower Tier 49 Euros No price for ringside mentioned Just wondering where people would chose to be in the stadium if they were buying tickets. Think i would go for ether standing because the atmosphere may be good there or the lower tier because the view will be good. Any views????
Yeah it's strange no other prices were mentioned. Maybe this will be clearer on fri once tickets go on sale. At the moment the site which will sell the tickets is only in German with no obvious english translation so may be tricky!! I'd definately go for 49euro seats.Standing will probably be behind goals and miles away.Buying my tickets tomorrow, then booking flight to Dusseldorf.
Are you going from the UK mate? Is that the best way to get there? Flight to Dusseldorf and then train?
Yeah I'm booked up in Dusseldorf and flying to Dusseldorf Weeze (Ryan Air). Been Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen before for thwe World cup etc. Gelsenkirchen has nothing there really apart from one small square and the Shalke Stadium about 4 miles out. Dusseldorf is a bit industrial but has more hotels, much better nightlife and is about 25mins on the train. Trains run everywhere round that area of germany regularly 24hrs a day. Getting my fight ticket tomorrow. No Ground level prices yet tho!!! Will prob go for Lower seating at 49euros. Don't know whether Haye is palnning an English 'end' or area tho to sell through his own website. Like an away allocation like in football. I'm not risking waiting for it tho...
I'd deffo try to avoid standing. View is the most important thing IMO. think about it. with the undercard etc. you'll be on your feet for 4-5 hours waiting for the main event! Ring side might be reserved for VIP but surely there are tickets available for more than 49 euro??? If not I won't complain. 49 for a heavyweight title flight 20 odd for ryanair to dussledorf...will probably end up being cheaper than a weekend at home!! Also would ticketmaster.co.uk not be selling them too? for the UK fans.... also Alyroo. can you reccommend a decent hotel in Dussledorf? Cheers.
I Paid £53 with Ryan air Friday to Sunday (Including all their robbing extras) and we got single rooms in Dusseldorf for £30 a night each right near the main bars etc. Can't complain really.
Dusseldorf is an amazing city for nightlife. Think Newcastle x10. I shall fly with Air Berlin to Dusseldorf. I'd avoid Weeze as it's miles from Dusseldorf. The main airport has direct trains every 30mins or so to Gelsenkirchen. I might try and stay in Gelsenkirchen as I don't fancy getting back to Dusseldorf after a late finish at the boxing
How far are we talking dave? Ryanair to crappy airport = 35euro Aerlingus to main airport = 100euro Worth the difference? Like the sounds of Newcastle X 10 (does that include quantity of gamey birds???) You been there a few times?
Im flying to weeze, its an hour and quarter bus ride for 14 euro return. Not too bad. Considering i cant check into my hotel til 2pm and my flight lands around 9am
I spent 10 days there. It is good nightlife. Wouldnt say its newcastle x 10 though. Theres a few areas of solid wall to wall bars. Its as good as some of britains best citys. You will have a great time if you go!!!
Been out on the town in Dusseldorf twice. It's absolutely heaving!! The birds aren't quite as 'up for it' as in Newcastle, but then again, where is?
Been Dusseldorf a couple of times for weekends (including world cup). Birds are quite friendly and one of the few european cities that has a good nightlife that's not (normally) overrun by Brits so the birds don't generally hate us (yet). I'm an ugly ******* and I've pulled nice girls there a couple of times. Never flown to Weeze before, previously flown to cologne and trained it up. Think it's about an hour on the bus to the main town. Just got my hotel off of hotels.com
