How many belts would SRR have won if they had Jr. divisions when he fought?

Yeah Larkin last defended in 46 but they stripped him in 47, so there was technically a champ in 47, that's what this book i have says anyhow.

Like i said, just a 'technically speaking' post, didn't really mean anything by it,

I doubt ray could have made 140 by 1947, he would have been around that weight in the early 40's not late

well he could have contested the vacant title between 41 and 45 if he was allowed because that was war time

Who is he beating for the title at heavy or if there was a cruiser title holder back then? Im not convinced he wins the title at lightheavy to be honest.
The thread title only says junior divisions at his time not fragmented titles

Yes, but would he be held in any higher esteem? I think not.

As boxrec isn't providing weights at the moment I have no way to verify this, but I thought Angott came up in weight to fight Robinson -- could Ray have made 135 at the time Angott was champ?

And the fact that there was a 140-pound title at the time that Robinson chose not to fight for raises the other part of the equation: we can't assume Robinson would have won all the belts in the junior divisions just because they existed because he may have skipped over certain classes -- a la Roberto Duran going from lightweight to welterweight without bothering to try to win the championship at junior welter.

If Robinson had the same mindset and goals as DelaHoya`s team had when he turned pro I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to grab a belt at 130lbs early in his pro career. Especially with 36+ hours to rehydrate. Sugar Ray was a skinny kid when he first turn pro. He couldn't have maintained it for long.

8 belts possibly. At least 6.

He could have had the LW title, so 135-160, maybe 130-160. I don't know if he'd win the 168lb title in his era, I mean you have Archie Moore, Bivins, Marshall, Burley, Holman amongst others who would all be fighting it out for that title. I mean he could probably get it after they get old or leave the division.
