I'll accept your challenge. Mayweather-Castillo I was a close fight, though I had Castillo up by about 2 rounds. Was it "The Bluprint"? -not quite... but it can be considered a model with much to learn from.

Castillo applied disruptive, heavy pressure often and often effectively. The belief held out here by some posters is contrary to old & gold ring wisdom. Mayweather has shined precisely when fighters play straight man to his stylistic showcase:

They follow him around the ring,
they fight him at ring center,
they try to counter him as if he were a fighter with normal reflexes.

--All this is vain. The way you deal with a stylist is to disrupt him and what he wants to do. Saddler did it to Pep, Frazier did it to Ali, Duran did it to Leonard, Armstrong and Greb did it to legions. Mayweather is an artist... like Rembrandt. But Rembrandt can't paint in an earthquake.

Here's what Castillo did right in the first fight:

    1. Castillo often punched with Floyd. Countering Floyd is vain because he's too fast and he's setting you up all the time and ruining your timing and manipulating off of your rythym. Punching with him finds the windows that everyone leaves open when they punch.

    2. Castillo also cornered him. Floyd relies heavily on his mobility and angles. Cornering him and banging him there is where you want him. When Oscar got him on the ropes, he was effective, even though he was still missing shots. Floyd was pinned. That's a better place to have him than ring center. Trying to deal with him ring center is dopey. You may as well go chase a leaf in the wind.

    3. Psychological pressure. This is also disruptive to a fighter like Floyd. Floyd wants to look good. He doesn't want war. It's not how he is wired. So jump on him and make it ugly. When he moves, angle him out. If he escapes, chase him. Castillo did this.

    4. Body punching. This should be obvious. Floyd is (a) too hard to land upstairs and (b) relies on legs. So you crack his ribs. Basic stuff. Sam Langford said it best when asked why he goes downstairs so often: "the head got eyes."

Castillo did these things in I and didn't in II... and you saw the difference. Some Floyd fans may say "hey, Floyd's shoulder was hurt after round 1." Well, maybe it was. That means that you have another place to hit Floyd. He's been almost injury prone -his hands, his back, his shoulder. This is all good news to opponents and further bolsters the claims made here.

Anyone who would claim that Floyd actually won Castillo I has a real burden to satisfy. Castillo was the aggressor, and the effective aggressor, in that bout. To wit: Mayweather threw 448 shots with a connect % of 35%. Castillo through 506 with a connect % of 40%. Castillo more than doubled his power shots thrown and landed. Castillo was the boss for most of the bout.

No Castillo definitely Won the first fight. The rematch was close too. It was Castillo's faints that made it a tough fight. Good faints are a must to beat Floyd. Burton i believe was able to get his hands on Floyd a bit as well

You really have no idea what I'm talking about, but I don't care. I try to be as vague as possible. I won't really tell anyone what's going on in my head because I don't want to reveal all of my secrets.

And while what appears to be natural to some are unnatural in the sense that one must have great conditioning and a sense of rhtymmic untertone derived from a beating drum from within to perform these ancient methods.

And most importantly for all would be impossible without this, a sense in self and reality of what is and what is to be is all a manisfestation of a creation that came to be and always was in God that all who have faith will be rewarded for sacrifices and deeds that far exceed the words man has derived to describe them.

    That's what I think..........

    What you think?

Hows is doin down there in Georgia. Ya'll got some fresh peaches, been through some highway or some road where there is a giant peach towering above the countryside.

I been through Atlanta too, but ****.......on to Tenessee.

You know the drill, from H Town to C Town on to the NYC....or I'm lyin...Jersey but the city is across the way.......

BY the way, PWs uppercut is solid. He keeps that **** goin, he can really put a hold on the division. He's gotta remember to get outta range though but continue to be unorthadox and a killer on the inside. That body work is what I think is really takin the heat out of his opponents, but ****, you know him way better than I do......but anyway......that mother ****er CAN fight......and is still underrated.

i agree a guy like paul williams who is tall long and high work rate could give mayweather trouble and the arm length could be too long to counter over but williams does tend to fight inside which gives away his height but in this case nothin to worry cuz mayweather i dont think will hurt him. now i do think pressure can work against mayweather but a intelligant pressure tho someone who can box his way in smart and unleash body to headshots and have power and work rate to do it and i think mosely can do it and IF he can get his stamina right cotto.cotto can be smart when he is focused like in the mosely fight
