"Against Floyd, after a few refereeing decisions went against me, I fought like a chicken with no head. Now I've got me boxing back. I'm moving me head again, and thanks to Floyd Mayweather Sr, I quickened my hands for Malignaggi. I ended up outboxing him. Is Manny quicker than Paulie? I don't think so. And after another camp with Floyd Sr I plan to be even quicker still."

hmm says... quick in what way? just head and hand like he mentions above... or overall movement, with footwork and such?.... I might incline otherwise...

LMAO! I love how he says "me" I.E "I'm moving me head again"

Anyway, I think Malignaggi might actually be faster than Pac. . Hatton has a point there.

Well, I don't think Malignagggi is quicker, but it's good preparation coming off of one quick fighter to face another one.

SOME improvement? I'm going to take a guess and say you didn't see the Luzcano fight.

& not everyone could beat Malignaggi or else he'd have a lot more losses :rofl
He was in shape as usual, bringing incredible speed and boxing skill to the table, but Hatton was able to make him fight a fight not suitable for his style.

the only reason ricky looked the boxer in his fight with malignaggi is that malignaggi had no firepower to disrupt him, no chance to knock hatton off balance and every reason to be scared and duck for cover or cover up every time ricky took a step forward. ricky had all the time in the world to think and all the room in the world to operate, that's why he looked the boxer. i suspect ricky's newly rediscovered boxing skills will look less profound when the other guy can hit him often and hard enough to actually get his attention.

hatton will be the bigger hitter of the two against pacquiao, no doubt about that. but after you mix in manny's apparent speed, movement, accuracy and variety advantages, i think this fight looks more and more like a stylistic nightmare for hatton. i like ricky. i think he's an excellent fighter, but the styles are all wrong here for him. i imagine he will be eating lead straight lefts and follow up right hooks and short right hands all night against pacquaio and will never find his range to mount a successful body attack. screw the boxing, if ricky has a chance in this fight it is not going to be by outboxing manny...ricky needs to rough him up at every turn, beat his body, his arms, shoulders, beat him from head to toe to slow him down and hurt him enough to put him on the defensive.

if ricky can force manny to fight on the retreat he can win, manny loses a lot of strength in reverse, but i just don't see the style match-up permitting that. manny is going to beat ricky up all night with tight flurries after which he'll vanish out of range and appear again at a different tough to reach angle to lay more leather on him.

You really think malignaggi that night is the same malignaggi before??? So I guess you havent seen paulie fight before..

When Pac beat DLH, you really think it was all pac and not because of DLH that night?

I've seen Paulie fight multiple times, He was taken out his element and couldn't use his game plan. Hatton was aggressive and smothered him and got his shots off & moved out.

PAC v. DLH doesn't really have anything to do with this but I get your analogy. Its way different scenarios though.

In that fight it was DLH that night, in Hatton v Malignaggi it was Hatton.

Malignaggi was ok for the first round, but once the right hand landed in round 2 the fight was effectively over.

He kept trying to run but once he found somewhere, he looked up and realised Hatton was already there!

I picked Hatton to outbox and stop Malignaggi anyway - read my posts if you wish..... so don't give all that much credence to his victory, it isn't one of his five best wins IMO.... barely in the top 10.
