People often discredit Hopkins by talking about Trinidad's smaller size.

Hill, well he's a good fighter, I haven't really heard too many people consider Hill a "great" despite his many title victories.

Mosley wasn't cut out for 154.

Gomez was inconsistent above 122, and partying with too many hookers leading up to the fight rather than training. He had trouble making 126 despite moving up, which shows you his lack of dedication to the fight.

Toney was a lazy fat-ass who had trouble making 168.

Taylor is a "great" fighter? He arguably lost two fights to Hopkins, and to Stinks.

Trinidad wasn't the same after the layoff and had people thinking he was back because of a win over the punching bag Mayorga.

Mosley was too small for 154 and Kessler hasn't proven to be more than just a good fighter.

Hearns was weight-drained for the Leonard fight. 6'1 and weighing 2 lbs below the limit.

Frazier was tailor-made for Foreman and not the same post-FOTC anyway, nearly dying after the fight.

Jones and Hopkins were still green.

Foreman fought a stupid fight and Ali loosened the ropes.

Forrest is a stylistic nightmare for Mosley. Mosley wasn't the same after the headbutt and the rematch was very close.

LaMotta had 16 lbs on Ray the one time he beat Ray.

Bowe was way bigger than Holyfield. Holyfield fought dumb the first time, and Bowe was nearly KO'd in the third fight.

On the flipside, Holyfield barely won the rematch against a fat Bowe. Bowe was winning the 7th round before Fan Man crashed down.

Ali wasn't the same after his exile. A pre-exile Ali had the legs to stay away more from Frazier and win clearly.

On the flipside, Ali only beat Frazier after Foreman had decapitated Frazier. The 2nd fight was a hold-fest and Frazier was supposed to be shot in Manila. Ali was ready to quit, he said so.

See, people will always have excuses.

All the bull**** I just posted above, I didn't just come up with right now. I've read it from people on message boards before.

:lol: thanks for the post bro. Pretty much this is the way people think, it's alway's an excuse for losing, I will give one excuse to the Trinidad Hopkins fight, Tito was at 154 for 8 months in an ambitious plan to fight RJJ, he did not belong at 160

    Julian Jackson vs Terry Norris.

No, weak chin is not what you would call an excuse. It's like saying "he lost cause jackson had too much power".

An excuse is more like "weight drained" "too small for that weight". You can't say "X fighter was tailor made for..." or "x fighter had a glass jaw", those don't qualify as excuses.

Come to think of it even for Calzaghe vs Kessler there were talks of KEssler hurting his hand prior to the fight. And alot of people don't consider Kessler anywhere close to being a great fighter.
