When, if ever has Pacquiao beaten a top fighter in their prime convincingly?

jeff it is easy to break down and criticize a fighters resume. the truth is pac fought the best possible comp in and around his divison to make a name for himself and to add to his legacy.

e.g who has marquez beat that is in his prime and elite. juan diaz he is not even elite.

cotto which elite and prime fighters has he beaten.

you are just a hater trying to downplay pacs accomplishments, you are the worst type of boxing fan.

Barrera was in his prime in their 1st fight, I think he did underestimate Pac at the time as Pac was the best 122 lber moving up to face Barrera, who was a top 2 126 lber himself aswell as top 5 p4p.... but still, no excuses, if Barrera was in their with anyone other than Pacquiao, he wouldnt have been totally mauled & outclassed like he was that night.... 100% full credit goes to Pacquiao for that win.

    :thumbsup

Pacman beat Barrera after he beat Hamed...destroyed him didnt he....oh u must havemissed that lol

Listen Pacman has fought 3 ATG...3 guys who are among the 100 best fighters ever lived...De La Hoya (past hit as well), hes goign to ad arguably one of the greatest light Welters to his resume...

The guys is a top 25 HOF after HAtton. Hes aphenom....what is so apealing about manny is that hes such a humble guy. No trash talk...just pure class.

He doesnt talk **** like some frauds from Wales....he takes on the big challenges

Purely blinded by hate...tsk tsk tsk...

Before Barrera, he fought Ledwaba, IBF champion in that division...Pac then moved up 1 division higher to fight Barrera (#3P4P, FHF, FATG)...Instead of fighting bums (In Jin Chi, Guzman, Soto, Valero), he went directly to Barrera...That's something right, but you could not see that since you hated pac so much.....Then Pac went against Morales and Marquez instead of fighting bums (In Jin Chi, Guzman, Soto, Valero)....Then fought david diaz 135lb WBC champ but easy opponent..Then fought ODLH, who everyone thinks would kill pacquiao..Instead of fighting bums (Casa, JD, and other LW bums)...Lets be real here, before Dec 8, who you think would beat pac easily??? SFW/LW top fighters or DLH??? thought so....:good

Any fighter right now beat an elite fighter in their absolute prime?

BHop - I wouldnt class Pavlik or Tarver elite...at least no more elite than the likes of Sasakul. Wright, ODLH & Tito were not prime either.

Cotto - Mosley was past prime and no other elite fighter in his resume.

PBF - You could make a case for Hatton, Corrales & Castillo, many will argue they aren't elite though. Corrales was green, Hatton was at 147, Castillo wasnt convincing first time. Could give him the 2nd but is the 2nd Castillo win any better than the destruction of MAB 03?

You can tear apart any resume...its called hating.

    Uhmm, true..

Plus older fighters can pull the trigger specially future HOF'ers we have seen a few good examples.Morales for example. E.M beat Pac he's only 2 years older than Pacquiao.Morales was taking the harder punches and punishment there was no way he can handle Pac in the best of 3 series.

Look at BHop and Shane Mosley. These guys are past prime and winning despite their age.Just because they're pushing 30 plus don't mean they're done.
