listen, Roberto Duran a lightweight almost beat arguably the greatest middleweight of all time.

Now i'm not saying Pacquiao is as great as Duran but he is closer to Duran than Cotto is to Hagler. So that being said, I'd still be tipping Cotto to beat Pac but it would not surprise me if Pac pulled off the upset.

Hattons got a shot because Pacquaio hasnt been hit good since he was at 130. if Pacquaio were to fight Cotto, Cotto does have a punchers chance but he gets hit as much as Hatton does. also Hatton is faster, has the way better trainer, and is undefetad at 140.

You're on. Just confirm that you accept it. But don't come to me on the day after the fight and say "we had a bet" if you don't confirm.

and anyways i wasn't laughing at you for changing your pick. I do that too sometimes. But going from "PAc will open a can of whoop ass on Hatton" to "Pacquiao will get punked by Hatton" is a little bit of a stretch

Good post. everybody thinks Cotto is one of the greatest or something. were talking about a boxer that was getting hit with 3 straight uppercuts in a row but the slowest ****in WW in the past 5 years. what the hell do you think Pacquaio is going to do?? slice and dice that ass. Now Cotto can win this fight, but for ppl to say Pacquaio has got no shot or the same ppl that said Pacquaio had no shot against DLH. same **** different day.

I just wonder if this "Fight" will still go on if One/Both come up short in their next fight?

i am really surprised that several people have picked pacquiao to win a potential match-up with cotto. yes, manny, i think is likely to beat hatton primarily on the blending of speed, reasonable power at 140 and the way he circles, darts and fights out of a southpaw stance. it is an issue of speed, reflexes and style which, in this case, i think negates hatton's size and strength advantage. really, hatton, pacman and cotto are are reasonably close in physical dimensions, by the number measurements...but that doesn't mean considering that dwight muhammad qawi was also close to the same general numeric size in a lot of ways to the other three. hatton is a bigger guy than manny and fairly physically stronger...and cotto is bigger and stronger than hatton by about the same margin, i think. point is, cotto is too big, too strong, too hard a hitter...and most importantly, too quick, too accurate and too well equipped to deal with a southpaw stance for manny to have much hope.

i have no doubt manny would make a fight of it while it lasted with cotto. yes, de la hoya is an even bigger guy by numeric measurements than cotto. but the lesser size advantage is not negated, for cotto as it was for oscar, by a loss of speed, vitality and aggressiveness by way of age and boxing decrepitude. in addition, de la hoya couldn't pull the trigger, just like freddie roach said in the run-up to the fight, and that had as much to do with oscar's failings of will and the body as it did to do with the speed or effectiveness of manny pacquiao.

cotto by mid to late round stoppage (6-8).
