    kostya tszyu was shot.

the **** this has got to do with this thread is that practically NOBODY has ever convincingly beat a top fighter in their prime.

look at the great muhammad ali:
sonny liston - way past his prime, on drugs, under threat from NOI/mafia
the big cat - still had a ****ing bullet in his ribs
joe frazier - way past his prime, after FOC and numerous wars
george foreman - spooked to the point of paranoia by africa and mobutu, was not training right, may have been drugged
ken norton - lost all 3 fights
    ron lyle - not elite
    earnie shavers - not elite

see how easy it is to **** on anybody's resume?

did you know that after Pacquiao beat Barrera the Pacquiao camp lobbied the WBC to be instated as mandatory challenger to the rematch between In Jin Chi and Michael Brodie and the WBC agreed, but after that the Marquez camp offered Pacman a career high payday so he went with that.

Yeah, but he is talking about a "prime" fighter.

to continue, let's look at sugar ray leonard:
tommy hearns - overtrained and weight-drained; plus manny steward admitted to being nervous about this being his first big fight

duran II - unmotivated, partying not training was the first priority, a natural lightweight, ate 20kg of steak 2 minutes before the fight

hagler - fading after 60+ fights including 2 straight all-time wars against hearns and mugabi, and many thought hagler won

benitez - never that dedicated, clearly got the worst of the headbutt

    ****, we should start a "Let's **** on everybody's resume" thread!

Jeff M is doing nothing but trolling in this thread. I mean, really, is this thread supoposed to be the topic of a legit discussion? A loaded question aimed towards a group he hates? Please... He does this garbarge all the time...

Did Manny beat an A game, physically prime Marco? **** NO.

But you have to consider him prime because he went on to give one last great performance against Morales.

    Just Barrera. Nobody else.

No, just in this thread. I've questioned and looked at other fighter's resume (including some of my favorites) and standing all time without any intent to degrade the fighter, and I'm not doing that now though some people always have to suggest my intent is to degrade Pac-Man because I suppose they don't want to use their brains or something.

Any resume can be questioned of course but what's wrong with discussing them.

As for the other comments, they had nothing to this discussion.

I though I said top fighters, not elite, but just true world class fighters.

Beating Hatton won't make Pac top 25 all time. Not yet, he'll have to do a little more.

Calzaghe's not a fraud but he should have fought a couple more fights against top fighters to truly make his legacy. He's obviously shown the ability to do so.
