Who is/was considered the bigger savior of HW division before they fought Wlad? Id doesn't matter that Peter did not followed his fate, we don't know much what will happen to Haye but at this point it does not matter. Lets compare status of them before the same event ... until they fought Wlad.
I had more confidence in Peter back then, then in Haye now. Also I think Wladi has improved quite a bit since then.
By beating Peter Wlad actually proved his chin can survive against big puncher ... or he can defend himself even being in big troubles.
Haye is a much bigger threat than Peter. Haye can actually box. Peter just wades in and unloads power punches. But as for what the general population thinks........I don't know.
Yes, but I think Stinkys question applied more to which opponent had more hype\chance at the time leading up to the fight. Circumstances are much different, Peter was coming in undefeated with tremendous power but still untested and Haye although legit warrior is much smaller. Wlad has much more experience and confidence at this point, 4 yrs ago there were still many questions marks after the Brewster loss and shaky performance against DaVarril Williams. I think overall most people had more confidence in Peter at the time.
not much to be honest, I think he could dominate below heavyweight and could beat a lot of the top heavys out there right now, (even Povetkin) but the Klits are just too big for him........but I have been wrong before.
I'm telling you, too much emphasis nowadays is being put on size. Your size doesn't determine how hard you can hit. I've seen plenty of people who were big guys that could push the bag just fine, but they didn't have any explosive power capable of knocking people out. Now Klitschko can hit, and that's undeniable, but what is he after that? He's a tall, rangy, big, and relatively clumsy opponent who stands straight up. If Haye can manage to make himself a small target, Wlad will have to reach a bit to hit him, and this will give Haye an opening after Wlad misses repeatedly with his jab to lay some leather on Wlad's body, and then eventually his head. Watch a fight with Joe Louis and Buddy Baer and basically almost any Marciano fight, and you'll see what I'm refering to. Then compare that to Haye who fights in a very similiar style which leads me to believe why he often references the "small" guys from the past and how he's representing them. You have to use your opponents size against them, and while Wlad is not slow, he is considerably slower than Haye, especially with his feet, and not to mention the fact that's he's not a small man, he has to carry around a lot more weight. If Haye can effectively attack his body, which I feel he can, he will systamatically break Klitschko down who will almost certainly be in retreat mode, and will eventually be able to catch him and lay some punches on him until he knocks him out. And history has shown that Klitschko does not deal too well with pressure. It seems like his nerves get to him, which will also slow him down. Then again, Haye also sometimes appears to be affected by nerves. But Haye has so much more potential as he can be much more versatile. He's not a straight up and down boxer which Klitschko essentially is, except he has size, and a lack of decent opposition...that is until Haye. I mean, everyone can say Brock, Thompson and those fighters, but they were all tailor made for Klitshcko as they weren't as athletic, couldn't hit as hard, had similiar or less speed, and fought in the same straight up and down style that so many heavyweights fight with today. It just doesn't work. You're playing into your opponents strengths. If Haye can keep it together, he won't do this. He can win. And I'm gonna throw it on the line, that he will win. And if he does, he'll be more dangerous than ever.
everyone was so high on peter when he blasted out williams and showed a little promise. the haye hype will not match it.
On this site the delushional English fans have made David Hype into Superman....................:rofl
Just make sure you're still posting here to eat your crow after Hype eats the Klitschko right hand that KO's his sissy ass.
I think Haye is getting more hype now, and rightly so. Peter isn't in haye's league. Peter had more doubters, I think a lot of the Haye doubts are simply over chin and pure dislike. (much like Froch, Haye comes over really well when he ain't trying to get someone to fight him or is hyping a fight. his analysis of fights when he's been a pundit show him to be an intelligent fella). The WK fans should realise at least this: WK beats Haye, then that is by far and away the best victory on his CV. Haye is elite, a unified cruiser champ and a big puncher. WK wins this, then well done to him. But I like Haye by knock out. then bring on the biggest heavy fight since Lewis v tyson: Haye vs VK
Peter. Everybody thought he was a juggernaut when he was comin up. Haye's chin's been cracked before, so not as many cats are givin him the same crazy hype. And even if Haye beats Wlad, VK will **** him up anyway.
No -- it's going to be the left hook. Trust me. If the left hook doesn't finish matters, then it will be the punch that draws things to a close.
Haye is 10 times more skilled, but his chin is suspect. He's been rocked and stopped by much lesser fighters. Peter has a better chin, Haye is better in every other category. He is an explosive puncher and athlete with much better boxing skills
