When, if ever has Pacquiao beaten a top fighter in their prime convincingly?

Strange, I though that fight was ruled a draw and after 24 rounds Pac is up one point. Did I miss something? Somehow this leads Pac fans to act as if Pac is greater than JMM.

so in your eyes it goes like this:

liston 1+2 - liston was prime
big cat - prime, had the bullet removed
frazier 2+3 - prime, unaffected by FOC, had just destroyed foreman
    patterson 1 - prime, uninjured
shavers - prime, no embarassing ko losses
lyle - prime, went on to a great career after the war with foreman

Morales was past it in the first fight but was able to put on one last great performace. Might have been the fact he sparred Valero to get ready for that fight.

did i miss something? pac IS greater than jmm.

granted jmm is a tough match-up for pac, but nobody would even pretend jmm is the no1 p4p.

norton beat ali 3x in my eyes (al bernstein and many others as well), but i wouldn't call norton greater.

In no way does Diaz qualify in this matter.

Actually, quite a few people see Marquez as the true P4p #1!

maybe you should list down your criteria of world class and in their prime because you just say stuff like this with no explanation as to why this or that fighter doesn't fit your criteria, even though you keep referring to this as a "discussion".

maybe you can also give a list of fighters from the last say 10 years who has beaten more than 1 world class fighter in their prime as you see it, with explanations as to why those fighters were world class and in their prime.

then again, you probably don't need to. it's already clear that you don't think pac has beaten any world class fighter in their prime since mab 1. so see ya. peace.

I aint no hater so I'ma call it like it is. Pacquiao beat dominated a prime Barrera, Pac improved againts Morales the 2nd fight and that version woulda beat any version of Morales @130. I gave Marquez the 2nd fight againts Pac but gave Manny the first fight @126.

To me Pac has proven himself againts:
    Prime Barrera
would beat a prime Morales with his latter form.
    Prime Marquez

Pac impressed me but has question marks against:
    DLH
    Diaz

Who Pac needs to beat to be bonafied:
    JMM rematch
    Hatton
    Floyd

He gets credit from me for moving up to fight DLH, I just don't think DLH was at his best. He did take care of business and I give him props. If he beats Hatton by domination it may remove some of the ?s. People say Pacquiao has improved which it definitely looks like when he had a repeat dominating performance againts DLH after dominating Diaz. Others say he fought fighters that werent really good or at their best. His fight againts Hatton should shift where I stand on it one way or the other

Good post. Similar to what I've been saying all along but I get labeled a hater for it, which is not true.
