If that fight had happend in the US, Lazcano would have won. Ricky was given so many breaks by the ref it was pathetic, and it shoudn't have taken that much against Lazcano.

 

Its been awhile, didn't Ricky get forever to tie his shoe when he was in trouble?

What really stood out to me was the complete lack of head movement and him coming straight forward and getting rocked several times throughout the fight.

Obviously it was a bad pick, but sometime you gotta go against the grain.

Floyd Sr. has done a great job with Hatton.

 

Man Ricky dominated Lazcazno. He was never in trouble and looked like he didn't show up to the fight and still won every round.

 

hatton won every round in his last two fights yet people still critisize him for those performances.

:yep im not even gonna argue about the "hometown cooking" b/c that **** was disgusting. and as pissed off as i was, i cant say that ricky was really on the verge of getting KTFO. -yeah juan had ricky on ***** st no doubt but unlike cotto who refuses to clinch & hold, hatton has enough smarts to do so.

my main point is that paulie lost to herman who is less of a fighter in all perspectives than hatton. and unlike paulie, juan actually packed a decent punch.

 

thats still yet to be seen/proven IMO.

 

Any improvement as a boxer is doing something special at this point in a guys career. We shall see what happens when he is challenged though.

You mean that one time when they had both been going at each other, came away and Ricky's lace was untied, which the ref quickly tied for him??

The Anti-Hatton brigade like to pretend that Ricky was standing on wobbly legs at that point and if he didn't get that huuugeee reprieve, then he would have been KO.
No, anyone without bias will tell you that there was **** all in it. Ricky wasn't on his way out, although he had taken a good shot. Laz had also taken a decent shot just before that. The fight had been halted briefly while the clinch was broken up and Ricky gestured to his shoes, as he should do because it is dangerous and stupid to fight when your laces (do you know how long laces are on boxing boots?) are untied. The ref tied the laces within ten seconds and it was back on again.

That is it, very simply.

It was a terrible performance by Ricky. Easily his worst ever. Worst by several million miles, actually.
Everyone basically thought "that's it. Rick's done now. It's all caught up with him and he hasn't been able to take his loss. The guy just mustn't be a true warrior".

Well, he ****ing proved us all wrong, didn't he?

I can't blame you for being so sure about that but I'm still backing Ricky and that isn't through some idiotic kind of blind loyalty. I hated Floyd and desperately wanted Ricky to knock him out but I always said that I can't believe it would be anything but a Floyd exhibition match.

 

I'm not that sure, especially considering Hatton is at weight so early and that he is a physically strong guy. When the fight was made there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that Pac would win but as the fight gets closer I do have doubt.

I'm sticking with my original thought though.
