Who do you rate higher: Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones Jr?

You think Hopkins was ever scared of Antonio Tarver?!! **** me, this place gets better and better. atsch

 

Jones has the higher value IMO. He faced greater challenges.

 

Where in my post do you see the word scared? Tell me this, who was Hopkins fighting at the time that was a bigger name than Tarver after the 2nd Jones fight? Do you really think Hopkins would've dominated Tarver like he did if he fought him back then?

 

Also H2H Jones will always beat him prime4rpime.
I also think Calzaghe vs BHOP prime4prime would have always been a close fight with Calzaghe winning it.

 

Hopkins faced and beat the better fighters. Period.

Including the two fighters that brutally KOed Glass Jaw Roy.

Both lost to Calzaghe so that is a wash.

 

The Tarver Hopkins fought clearly was not the same Tarver Jones fought.

 

Doesn't matter. Calzaghe also toyed with Glass Jaw Roy and had a much harder time against Hopkins.

Hopkins never handpicked fights like Roy either.

Hopkins resume shits all over Roy who NEVER even beat a unified, undisputed, or linear champion in his career.

Hopkins was a legit 2 division champion. He was THE Middleweight and THE Light Heavyweight Champion.

Roy was arguably never THE champion of any division he fought in.

Dariusz whatsit was linear at LHW - Jones never looked to make that fight..... probably because of his reluctance to travel.

I'd take DM to beat Jones actually..... by stoppage whilst behind on the cards.

 

So you think Roy should get just as much credit as Hopkins for beating Tito? What made Hopkins THE light heavyweight champion? Last I checked he didnt unify ****. He wasnt as much of a light heavyweight champ as Roy was and Roy's win over Toney is more impressive than any win Hopkins ever had. People are so quick to discredit Roy's win over Ruiz but for some reason he was the only little man to step up to heavyweight and fight him.

Roy because he refused to fight DM was never THE Light Heavyweight Champion. Hell, 2 of those trinket belts Roy had belonged to DM who was stripped of them.

 

We don't know what would have happened because they never fought.

And I do not just blame Glass Jaw Roy for the fight not happening DM was also to blame.

It would have been great if they had fought in a neutral country like England with neutral judges and a neutral referee etc. That would have been a hell of an event.

 

I don't understand when and how the ring became so important. Anyway, when you are the p4p king for several years and embarassed the man h2h you are being compared to then I don't see how you can end up behind him. Why on earth should Roy have to go overseas to fight DM. Hopkins never went overseas to fight anybody.

 

That's undoubtedly true..... but the money making machine in Germany means they don't have to even come to England to make £££, never mind the US.

Honestly I have it as a 50/50 fight. I can see DM winning by KO don't know if he could outpoint Roy.

I could see Roy winning by Decision but not by KO.

Man it would have been great if someone put up a large sum of money to sponsor a fight in a neutral country. What could have been......
