OMG! Who is that asian hottie in your avatar! Curvy asians are the hottest women around IMO! It's a rarity!
I like both boxing & MMA. A good way to learn appreciation of the ground game is wrestle with a wrestler or play a BJJ match with a BJJ player or sambo or judo, you get my point. Once you realise how they can control you, you will be in awe of the top guys, especially the guys that make it work in an MMA fight.
I like them both, MMA has come a long way for being such a young sport. Compare the skills of the guys 5 years ago and that of today, there's no contest, the skill progression of the elite in the game is amazing. I like boxing a lot more though.
Yes, I like both. Most people seem to think the two sports are at odds with each other, I don't know why. I like rugby union and football (soccer) maybe if I was 12 I'd pick sides and argue for one against the other. But I am an adult and I can appreciate both. Sometimes I think the media insisting on always stating that MMA is 'the fastest growing sport on the planet' spooks boxing fans and threatens them (I don't know why, I am a boxing fan and I think any drop in the popularity of boxing is boxings fault due to ****s like Don King, Bob Arum and Frank Warren pricing it out of the market) The way that the MMA organisations are structured can help the big fights to be made rather than politics preventing the best matchups ever happening. That is one thing that I hate about boxing: the politics.
The best MMA organization in the world doesnt even have the best MMA fighter in the world. And the way MMA is stuctured allowed Brock get a title shot with a 2-1 record. The way boxing is structured would have never allowed because at least boxing has some form of a ranking system. MMA doesnt, they just do whatever the hell they want especially the UFC. Remember Couture got a title shot after losing to Liddell, and Lesnar got a title shot after beating Heath Herring which was his 1st legitimate MMA win. Now, that is far more corrupt than boxing.
im fan of mma, but i love my boxing. The thing that turns me off mma is most fighters when i starts to get hard they take it to the ground and dry hump or just cuddle. I dont get the ground game and it is no where as exciting as seeing a KO or clean strikes land. I will get bored watching a crap mma fight before i will watching a boxing bout.
It's not corrupt, they just give the fans the fights that they want to see, they will throw the fighters in against each other as oppose to in boxing politics keeping them OUT of the ring. At the end of the day the UFC is a company that employs fighters, the fighters understand this and fight who they are told to fight. Boxers and their promotors are kind of self employed and arrange the fights/purses themselves. Also in MMA losing isn't the end of the world like it is in boxing. ANd yes they do have the best fighter in the world: Anderson Silva. This Fedor being superman bull**** has got to stop, I remember how CroCop was gonna go through the UFC destroying everyone in his path. Fedor is a gear head, Affliction let him get away with it, the UFC wouldn't. TROLL
Marcus Davis was a former pro boxer. Silva's boxing ledger consists of 2 fights one of which was a bad joke and the other he got KO'ed. As for Arlovski he wouldnt even make a quality journeyman in the pro's. And no Sanchez does not have a pro boxing record. Wether you want to admit it or not striking in MMA is woefully bad. The reason for that is quite apparent because MMA striking is entirely diffrent to boxing. The only quality strikers in MMA are those from a kick boxing/Muay Thai/TKD background. Manhoef Hunt Silva Wandy and CC are some of MMA's most accomplished strikers. BUT striking as an art form in MMA will never be comparable to boxing or any other striking discipline because the fighters cross train in a variety of disciplines and never truly become proficient at one. Guys like Hunt Manhoef and CC all came from pure striking disciplines hence there success in MMA.
The only troll here is your pathetic post. You dont know the first thing about MMA. Fedor is a "gear" head? And you actually think it makes sense to compare a SPORT (Boxing) to a FRANCHISE (UFC) that does what is best for its OWN interests? And only a tool would **** on an ATG like CC. So the only troll here is you mon fere and your bull**** post. Get a clue already.
The people that **** on traditional Gung Fu's are the ones that know nothing about Martial Arts and are certainly not purists.
I watch it when I for something to do, and I enjoy some of it, but it is hard for me to really get into it. I don't like the submissions.
I use to watch boxing, now it's just MMA. From a casual fan's perspective most of the real name-fighters are retiring, and there doesn't seem to be any new ones on the horizon to take their place. At the same time, MMA is gaining momentum and provides a needed change of pace from all the bull**** that plagues boxing. As a side note, I do plan on ordering Pacquiao/Hatton.
