Thought id start a thread in the run up to the fight. the undercard is pretty pish by hayemaker stadards!no many local lads on the bill ,and how can rhodes be fighting ? anyway i think the fight will only be one on which fighter underestimates the other.looking at the two of them appleby has more experiences of 12 rounders, and has fought more of a higher quality...but since he has steppud he has not ko'd anyone and in his last fight he was showing that his stamina was lacking, but he did show an improved defence, but he will need to have improved them or Lindsay will get through with some leather to the face! As for lindsay ,from waht ive seen and read his biggest win to date is over Derry matthews but he was losing on the scorecards up to that point. and matthews lost his previous fight to choi (but that is nothing bad as he is the toughest hitter in divsion according to few) and has lost again since facing Martin Lindsay has a tighter defence than appleby and better footwork (which is always underestimated) and that will certainly come into play on the night . a tight fight, but if goes over 9 rounds i think appleby will have it in the bag
lindsay will win this fight...appleby done **** all to impress me...his 2 best wins were against an ordinary simspon and a past it pickering:good
Thats a good call tbh and in the Simpson fight both were what i would call untidy. Appleby still looked one dimensional regarding his style. As he has said himself and others have, he is learning not to just plough forward. Thus said, i think we will see a very refreshed Appleby loving the atmosphere and thriving on it. Love it when a fighter goes "abroad" for a fight. On paper, yep i am taking Appleby, in theory too and i know nothing of Lindsay apart from the Derry Banjo so it would be ignorant to profess a stoppage/loss etc....... Ok ****it..........................Paul within 10, no Paul UD, no Paul to spark him early :thumbsup :happy :bbb :yep
who the **** is derry mathews ???? wee simpson beat his ass good and proper...........appleby TKO 7 :bbb
Really we all know about Appleby we have seen enough of his fights to judge him. Lindsay is a different story. We have seen 1 fight and from what i have heard that was one of Lindsays worst performances besides the Ko which was great. I find it very hard to judge this fight but am leaning towards appleby but obviously want Martin to win
HAHAHAHA cheers Aye i know what i expect and want, pretty sure we on the same lines, jus giving the boy his dues :good Regarding Simpson V Derry..........i said a few times it was probs ma closest i been to not liking a fighter ( Derry ) and canna blame him when the judges r on the ****
when appleby makes his charges 4ward...lindsay will b countering all night long...appleby big clumsy attacks wont make any impressions on the fleet footed macman...martin will win this big:good
Lindsay has been on UK tv 3 times, against Matthews, Marc Callaghan and Chris Hooper. He was also on tv in Canada in all of his 3 fights there I believe. The fight with Callaghan was the main undercard fight on Sky, on the Colin Lynes v Gianluca Branco card from Italy. The Hooper fight was shown on the undercard of Damaen Kelly v Simeone Maludrottu I on Sky. So although he may not be high profile there is footage out there of him and I'd say quite a few people have seen him more than once. Although the Matthews fight is possibly the only fight of great relevance as it's the only time Lindsay has really been tested in his career. But you could say that about Appleby in that's had only one fight where he's really been tested and one other decent fight(Pickering), so they're not really that different in that respect.
Sorry mate i thought most his fights were on heard of. I have been looking for footage of him but all i get is the matthews fight. Clearly didn't do the research here atsch
