  1. A sell out vs Macca

and about 11,000 for a nothing fight vs Barrett isn't bad

The unification fight against Enzo was very well promoted, a domestic tear-up for a very significant prize.

I agree, he isn't bad at selling tickets, but he was almost giving them away for the Barrett fight, and even then the 02 was half empty.

Haye ain't no Naz or Hatton in terms of bums on seats.

Hype better last at least a few rounds. It would be a shame for him to get KO'd in rd1-2 after all this build-up

Cannot wait for this fight. It's going to be maybe the biggest fight of both fighters' careers.

just under 3mill are able to watch setanta, but they have just over 1mill puying the subsciption fee (£12.99)

they've only ever reached a 1million viewers once (england vs croatia)
i think Haye vs Wlad will be close to a million and maybe more (with new subs) bearing in mind its on at prime time i would expect setanta to get their biggest boxing audience (Calzaghe vs Hopkins half a million at 03:00)

Haye/Barrett did good numbers (300,000) and actually more then haye/enzo (although that was more due to the time)

They were actually giving them away, they were doing a two for one offer in the last week of the fight in an effort to shift the tickets. I think it sold okay in the end(about 8,000 ?) but it certainly was a struggle to get there.
However before fighting Enzo, Barrett, and Mormeck(in France) Haye had been fighting in front of about 1,500 so you can't expect him just to suddenly start getting huge figures easily.

The number of viewers Setanta have will be totally irrelevant when it comes to actual viewing figures. A hell of a lot of people will be watching it in pubs if the Barrett fight and my experience are anything to go by.

The Germans are indeed allowing some standing room, I believe that's what the cheap tickets(€24) are for.

30,000 is very impressive so far, it should be a sell-out.

That german guy was on setanta stating that cappacity would be around 60,000 +. Wont be in 70s due to H&S etc.

I reckon biggest british boxing fight since tyson v lewis.

Tough question... he gets a bit more than half of their viewers since his "blood battle" against Miranda which is about 6 million people per fight.

Even people who don't watch Klitschko fights or boxing per se will know who they are, AA hasn't reached their celebrity status by a long shot... you can compare him to Felix Sturm in that respect.

it doesn't really matter that much on the viewing figures front for setanta, more important is the number of new subs they can get out of it

imagine though if this fight was on terestrial in the UK, your looking at over 10 million
in Germany if over 11 mill watched vitali vs gomez this should be near 15 mill

i have to say though i don't like the lack of promotion of haye in the UK

I had forgot that Gerrie Coetzee vs John Tate did 86,000 in a stadium in South Africa. That is a lot of people for a Boxing match.
