Marvin Hagler was dominant at only one weight, didn't mean he wasn't the P4P best. Too much obsession over weight jumping nowadays rather than all-out dominance.
Tarver was not p4p top ten at the time he fought Bernard. See that's the difference, I didn't have to make things up, reverse judges decisions etc, when speaking about Hatton's last 9 fights..
2nd or third, but if he then beats Marquez as he hopes to do... number one. If you beat first and second then by rights, he would deserve it. It will be tough to beat those two though, but the weight will be a factor if he is able to do so.
Hatton's last nine fights?????? When he destroyed the 2nd best fighter in his weight class, beat once great Lazcano, lost to the best fighters of all times, close call with Collazo and then stopped Castillo and Mauza!!! as well as battered Kosta!!!! Hatton is a talented fighter. He became famous for bulldozing opponents and he tried to do that too much at welter which wasn't smart or effective!!!! Pacman a great fighter, but those who think that he will have an easy night against hatton are fooling themselves, if hatton beats manny then he has to go up the rankings significany and he will deserve it, beating a talent like Pacquiao:good:good:good:good
hatton wins over pq does not elivate him to a higher ranking. by his own (hatton) statements, it is reasonable to infer that he is banking more on his size and strenght rather than on his own boxing ability unless, he can prove it otherwise.
I was agreeing with you mainly just trying to even it up a bit and I thought he was rated top 10 at the time (I never rated Tarver anywhere near top 10 p4p personally).
Fair enough, I was being overly complimentary to Hatton and harsh on Hopkins on purpose. Having said that, I still think he has a very good case to go above Hopkins though if he beats Pac...
Who gives a **** about the guy in my avatar? He's my favorite fighter, but he has nothing to do with Ricky only being a good fighter in one single weight class. I don't put Hopkins at the top of the P4P list, but he's higher than Dicky - that's for sure. He completely dominated MW for many years, then moved up in weight (and age) and wins or is competitive with everyone he faces.. much more than can be said about Ricky. Win or lose, Hatton doesn't crack the top 10 p4p, because he is incapable of moving up in weight and excelling. He'll get his ass kicked, anyway - so the question is moot.
