yea he was getting the worst of it by far but he was getting a few good licks in and it was way early, add the fact that he wasnt really buzzed by that last knock down and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. then again raul is my homeboy so i may be a little biased. nonito looked great though.
that flip probably said that because of frustration with viloria's past fights. haven't you seen how the crowd cheered him from the beginning to the end? even if viloria loss this one, it was the kind of fight that would make pinoys proud. i'm sure even solis wowed the local crowd with his display of fighting heart and iron jaw.
Yeah. The ref should have at least given him the 10 count. Maybe the ref saw the guy's eyes were glassy and his legs go limp and thought that he was done. A bit early stoppage, but not very controversial.
hmm says.... damn I want to watch the Vilario-Solis and Donaire-Martinez fight again.. hope some posts it on youtube
not one of you guys gave him a chance. maybe asero but everyone else basically disowned him. if he lost, he was just an american. now that he won, hes 100% pinoy.
That's true, happy for Viloria a lot of Filipinos dissed him when he lost those fights, saying he wasn't even a "real" Filipino. Too bad primaDonaire is a lot more talented.
Well, I was rooting for him to do well, but wasnt expecting him to win by KO. His only chance to win, I thought, was if he becomes more aggressive, more busy and doesnt get afraid of getting KOd. I posted "Viloria SD" on the fight leagues here.
I dont know about "A LOT". They dont "hate" him for being not a "real Filipino". They are disppointed with him and frustrated with him because he's so talented and skilled but he doesnt use all of it to win fights that he can easily win. He lacked aggression and fire. It felt good seeing him throw real agressive flurries and combos earlier.
i think it's just an ok stoppage. to early but the ref did saved martinez from getting serious injury if he let the fight continue. martinez was already outclassed and a young prospect like him needs to be saved so just to ensure that he has a future in boxing. one day, if he makes it big, he would thank the ref that he didn't let him getting more damage in that fight. as for the crowd, they couldn't care less if it was stopped immeadiately. they were already satisfied with the undercards and would just want to see donaire's performance.
Are you in the Philippines? It'll be shown later this afternoon, and replays tonight and tomorrow on other channels.
Yeah. But I thought he should have given him a standing 8 or something, and check if he's still OK to fight. He can then call the fight off if he sees that he's not good anymore. To avoid this talk of "bogus stoppage" by boxing fans.
