What happened here is what we call in the NFL as prevent defense, the problem is unlike the NFL, it works in MMA.

Leites took Silva down, he was able to do **** to Silva and then decided to flop the whole way. They should penalize that ****.

Silva on the otherhand needs to be more aggressive, he is now trying to compete with Lyoto as far as not getting hit but Lyotos timing and counterpunching is different than his (its better!).

He's boring as hell when he tries to be too cute

You guys are a tough crowd. I say we feed Silva to the lions next.

Have to say I was impressed with Shogun tonight, he looked in far better condition, but i`m afraid its the end of the road for Liddel.

As for Silva, he just needs to ditch the 185, forget about GSP, and move into the 205 division where he will find a challenge, he looked bored as hell tonight against a seriously substandard oponent.

    :lol::yep:lol:

    Anderson juts toyed with him.

He could have finished Lettuce any time.

He did'nt even hear the first bell ring until round three.

Honestly, if you can just destroy a guy in quick time, then do it.

Anderson could have done it but he chose not too. :patsch

Give me a break. He's been willing to engage with far better strikers than Leites, but suddenly he's afraid of getting caught by a guy flopping around like a fish? That whole fight was bizarre. I'm not going to believe that a strong clinch fighter suddenly decided to turn into a poor man's Machida over night.

I honestly feel he was trying to do the Lyoto thing, like trying to be unhittable. The thing is that style he presented tonight is not the real Anderson Silva we all got to know and like. This is not an exhibition, its not a tv show, leave the practicing for new moves at practice. He had the opportunity to kick leitas' face in and he didn't. In a way, I thought it looked like he took it easy on his fellow Brazilian. I did not see where Leitas possesed any threats to make Anderson so inactive at times, especially when Leitas already looked out of gass in the 4th-5th.

What happened to the hungry Anderson that decapitated Rich Franklin in their first fight?

are we starting to see Silva loose a bit of fire and passion he once had when he was not champion? He looked bored in the ring imo.

    What risk?

    There was NO risk.

Leites had sweet **** all to beat SIlva with.

That fight should NOT have gone the distance.

Ohh it was a beautiful performance, but he could have done more is what Im saying.

His opponents has equated victory with who lasts longer against him. Im sure Leites next fight will be promoted as "The man who lasted against Anderson"

He just tried to be too cute, lets be honest about that and when tha perfect opportunity didnt present itself, he never pulled the trigger. At the end of the day its still entertainment. In Boxing this would have been hailed as a virtuoso perf. But in MMA it just feels like we needed to see more for $50

That's what I'm thinking it has to be. People kept saying he was being smart and trying not to take damage. I wouldn't call spending the entire first minute of the fight with your hands at your side trying to be great defensively. I honestly don't know what he was doing. It seemed like he didn't want to hurt Leites and just wanted to waste time most of the fight.

I know Im fishing here but maybe he wants to **** Dana and the UFC and wanted to make a statement. I dont know. Its a mystery.

He knew early on that Thales World Class JJ cant do **** against him (very impressive BTW) and yet he still played around.

    I wasn't happy with Silva..

but Thales leites is much more at fault.. and never should have been in this fight.
He didn't engage at all.. he gave up on takedowns and just decided to FLOP. Not pull guard.. just FLOP.

Well, i'm not impressed with any boxing match that turns out like that.

I supposed it was a bit like Gamboa's fight last night against Rojas.

I was bit bored watching the boxing but SIlva vs Leites was much worse.

This card is really as bad as Ive seen in a while for the expectation Ive had. MMA is so ****in unpredictable. Another lame Main Event.

I know Hatton/PAc for example will be a classic, its the undercard in big boxing events that suck ass. But the main events almost never disappoints
