Mayweather, but no Hagler???? Or Tommy Hearns? AND Floyd above Roy Jones???? It beggers belief, I personally have Sweet Pea 1st. Leonard fought guys at the right time, though his win over Hearns is as good as any in the sport. Sweet Pea ducked no one and has one of the greatest wins of all time over Chavez (technically not but clearly he was the first man to beat JCC SR) and was still competing with top fighters when he was past his best (Trinidad, De La Hoya)
:rofl:roflLeonard fought guys at the right time. He outboxed prime Benitez, knocked out prime Hearns, beat Duran right after he lost to him making him quit..the great duran, and then came back from a lay off, with a detatched retina, moving up to middleweight to beat a past prime, but still good, Hagler. Shut the hell up with that ****.
The Benitez thing totally slipped my mind to be fair. The 2nd Duran fight was a joke, Duran was not in very good shape at all and was forced the take the fight early on the challengers terms. Hagler was still half-decent yes, but the fact is that Leonard could've fought him much earlier, but saw something he didn't like. He waited for Hagler to slip on purpose. And didn't you say atsch was disrespectful? Why are you doing this :rofl then????
Fleaman. Don't spend to much time in Classic listening to the clown RedRooster. Leonard had wins over two prime ATG's HOF's, and he had no business beating even that version of Hagler up at Middleweight. Duran showed he made 147lb fine and would go on to beat Middleweights. The Duran win was good, but beating Hagler despite the lay off...amazing achievement. Leonard is number 1, if he isn't, come up with a better reasoning than he took fights at the right time. His resume is STACKED.
The hitman at #4, interesting. I have always had Marvin above him but Tommy went through 5 weight classes.
Yeah I agree but I think Pernell makes a case. He dominated truly great fighters in their prime while Leonard struggled at times with similar competation.
Yeah Ray thought that he would be inactive for 2 years, and then take a full 3 years away from the ring resulting from an injury to gain an edge on Hagler. :nut Three year layoffs are so good for aging boxers.
