That's cool.. BUt prior to this fight, I know for a fact that alot of pinoys refused to embrace him because he wasn't a REAL PINOY, whatever that means.. Only a very few of them gave him credit but now that he's beaten a green prospect, they're having a change of tune and acting like he's the next Pacman.. lol Typical bandwagon hopping casual fans is what they are.. after that fight, im convinced that he would beat montiel at any weight...before, i used to favor montiel... to think, donaire's win over darchinyan is just as big as darchinyan's win over mijares
name a pinoy poster that doesn't like donaire? we don't talk too much about him, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we hate him. why not like a fighter like donaire? he almost got it all, plus he's a fellow pinoy.
IMHO, a great majority of Pinoy fight fans did embraced him and it's not a case of bandwagon hopping you're trying to portray here. A lot of Pinoy fight fans and even local boxing experts were saying before that Nonito was a better fighter than Pacquiao. I myself thought so too as I saw him as a more complete fighter than Pac was two to three years ago. Nonito is a true Pinoy, the Donaire brothers were born and raised in the Philippines although they migrated to the US as adolescents. Both even started their professional boxing career in General Santos City and were among the countries best prospects in early 2000's.
