You mean the way he was against Hopkins? On the contrary I think Pavlik is too immobile for PTP's perpetual movement and punches and would end up losing on the cards as a result.

 

A fight between two highly over rated fighters.

Not taking anything away from them as they are good fighters, not great but good.

Id see Paul Williams taking this as he can move up in weight comfortably unlike Pavlik cos Paul weighed something like 168 on the night of the fight against winky and even though Winky had a bit of ring rust he still looked good however he wasnt able to stop Winky let alone cut him like what happened against hopkins and not taking anything away from winky as hes a great fighter in his own right and paul should be proud to stand up to a future hall of famer and dominate every round.

Pavlik however only hails 2 good wins over Taylor and although the stoppage in the first fight was great pavlik tasted the canvas too and when he faced a much older but much more skilled fighter in Bernard Hopkins he was beaten to a pulp......so much for wanting Calzaghe huh?

Id say the safest bet is Paul by a close UD but you never know. ive only seen pauls fight against winky and pavlik vs taylor twice and hopkins but judging from what i see thats who wins.

To all the Williams fanboys, NONE of the above mentioned hits as hard as Pavlik, I don't even want to get into an AA discussion. MUCH respect to PWILL, I like the guy, he is good for boxing, but making statements like he has a good chin against the above mentioned and comparing the above mentioned to Pavliks and AA's power is ludicrous much less not up for debate. Pwill WILL feel the power against Pavlik, what is his plan going to be, come forward for the straight punching pavlik, give him angles so Pavlik starts throwing to the body? Paul Williams is an excellent 147 and 154 pounder, event though I would like to see him in against Santos, Angulo, Kirkland. Also watching Paul against Winky shows how susceptible he is to the left hand/left hook/counter hook, AA's money punch. To make a long story short, he loses BY KO to Pavlik and KTFO to AA!

Be nice to see PW get in a good couple more fights at 160 before the big ones, but I got to say I was impressed with the way Paul looked in there against Winky. He looked still fast and mobile as usual, and a lot less like (no disrepect) Skeletor, like he does gettin' down to 147. IMO, 160 looked like it should be his natural weight and should keep in that zone.

Along with Pavlik and Abraham, that'd be one more big dog in the division to set up some big daddy bouts. Good luck to PW, like the guy, but I don't think he's quite ready for Pavlik or AA, but I'll sure as hell be watchin' the guy.

 

I saw Pavlik last night at the Chicago Golden gloves finals. I was in th upper deck so I couldn't shake his hand but he seemed to be really cordial to his fans. It was refreshing to see a celebrity give time to acknowledge his fans.

Oh ya, Paul gets crushed.
