The disgrace of Khan fighting for a World Title

The WBA sanctioned Holyfield as an opponent for Valuev. What else do you expect from the ABC orgs.

Therefore the force of Khan's punch WILL increase at LWW...however...this will be relative. We will know whether or not his punches cause more damage on fight night.

 

If a fighter is 'weight drained' what effects can that have on him?

 

Many, assuming they are actually weight drained and not the beneficiary of excuse making.

I would take some serious convincing that a china chin that can't take punches from guys with 8 KO's in 30 odd fights is going to improve by adding 5 lbs. It does not add up for me I'm afraid - I'd have to see him taking punches from 140lb'ers to believe it. And when we do see it we'll see Khan kiss the canvas :yep

 

Them 5 pounds will do him good in terms of hydration and feeling better and making the weight better will be good for him allround.

Cotto was weight drained at 140 and only got wobbled by the bigger punchers. At 147, barring taking shots from big, fast punchers like Mosley and Judah (or hit with plaster of paris), he's been sturdy. Khan was hit by a non-punching former SFW and was down and nearly out. Prescott, who's a decent puncher but no Earnie Shavers, made his legs go with a JAB!

He's chinny, end of story. The extra weight might help him recover from a KD, but he'll never be able to hold a shot.

 

look at the extra 7 pounds on calzaghe, hes a beast at LHW! and looked drained at SMW..

thats only two more pounds more than khan!

i think he'll TKO Kotelnik down the stretch.. i think he'll smash his face up with them quick hands, and bully him about the ring

 

The signs were there in the ams.

Even when he was a skinny little kid who could have no problems with weight he could not take a punch. His reaction to that punch from Watson (WITH HEADGEAR) was frightening.

 

Khan should of been fighting at 140 at least 2 years ago, how can he stay at lightweight for 5 years?

 

He is not weight drained at LW like you say. Even Frank Warren said Khan might move back down to 135 even if he beats Kotelnik if the right fights are there. DO you think Warren would jeopardize his biggest cash cow by making him fight at a weight that he can't make?
