    What gives????

Can't find it in any of the places that usually stock it, this is the issue with the Niemanesque painting of Hatton and Pacquiao on the front

Jack can ask what you guys pay sterling for your copies of the Ring in the UK?

The latest one to hit the newsagents in Australia is the April edition and costs us $24.50 or roughly 12-13 pounds. Its woefully out of date by the time we get it here. Not sure if we get the UK or US cover edition, April had Mayweather on the cover with the headline 'Crucial Decision'.

The next edition, if form is any guide to go by will be the Hatton-Pacquiao preview and will probably turn up a few days after the fight has occured.

Of course subscription would solve that problem but with our exchange rate being craptacular we'd still only be saving a couple of dollars per issue.

The Mayweather one was last months, this one is May (although the fight coverages dates back ages) its £4.95 over here, cheaper cos its printed here I think, hence it sometimes has different covers. Its usually out the first week of the month

Cheers mate, thats what I expected but am surprised the price is so low compared to us. I did send them a letter querying this over a year ago and am still waiting for a reply. I'm guessing the local distributors here whack some on top as well but even comparing it to other US mags the price is in a different league.

Regarding getting mags, I had to travel to 4 different places to get the 5 mags available here (Ring, Boxing Digest, Boxing Monthly and two local efforts) until I convinced my local shop to get them all. Saves me running around and hes happy with the extra dollars.

I've got about 4 places I know of that sell it and none of them have it, WH SMiths is a bit sporadic with regards to selling it, some do most don't.

Bugs me when you look at the sports mag sections, theres sports like running that have about 9 different mags and Boxing has Boxing News and Boxing Monthly

I used to love the glory days of the late 80s early 90s where there were an abundance of mags on offer. Really miss KO, always preferred it over the Ring and there were a couple of others that would could out every second month as well.

I actually just had a look at the letter I wrote them, we were paying between $6 to $9 in the period of '95-'98, early '00s it was at $15 and then I stopped buying until just over a year ago where it seems to have settled at $24.50. Bare in mind that when I resumed buying it our exchange rate was almost on par with the US dollar whereas last time I looked we're back to around 60 cents.

I'm a big fan of the UK mag Boxing Monthly now, we have the option of getting the current issue air freighted for only a couple of dollars extra at $11.50 compared to the surface mail edition of around $9, the big difference though of course is the news isn't so stale and you don't have to stop and have a think about what fights they're reporting on (thank you Ring). Plus all the little freebies they throw in doesn't go astray either.

Boxing Digest (US) suffers the same speed of travel but is $17.50 here, cheaper but still stale, they time it perfectly so that their section on upcoming fights which previews the next two months ahead runs out a week after it gets here. Every. bloody. time.

I got it at WHSmiths but it was the only one there and was a bit late. This week they said they'd had no delivery of Boxing News which pissed me off as the local Tesco's here in MK doesn't have it yet my Tesco's in Manchester sells Boxing Monthly and News. ****ing southern towns :)
