I think Pac Man is going to win.

I think that Hatton will be a much better fighter with Floyd Sr. in his corner.

But, I have to ask, "why is Moore helping out?"

I understand that Roach is losing his ability to communicate...and that he needs help...and that another voice/someone to look over his shoulder/etc. is a good thing...but ****ing Moore. He is a headcase. What, was Riddick Bowe still in the corps and serving overseas? Was Tyson too busy? I don't understand...please help me see the light.

Maybe there's more to Moorer than you know from Legendary Nights. Not knowing his name indicates a pretty perfunctory knowledge of the man.

Good point about my spelling...hard to argue there. But I have seen him fight more than once and I do know a little more about him than you imply. I was always under the impression that he didn't give it his all and had a bad attitude. Didn't Atlas get on his case a lot? Even go so far as to call his son on a cell phone in between rounds to have him ask dad why he wasn't fighting hard. Atlas is a complete douche bag and perhaps he demotivated him by such drama queen antics, but still, moorer did develop the reputation of a problem child. I just think the team is a little random.

Perhaps he's more versed in tactics and other facets of the game? You don't need to fight hard when you're the one doing the training.

Fair enough. Original post just seemed rather pissy, even though I think it's a valid question. I don't know any more about Moorer than the next guy; just thought that his characterization in Leg Nights may have been exaggerated for dramatic effect (though by most accounts he is pretty mercurial).

Incidentally, there was a reasonably substantiated rumour that Tyson did request a job at Roach's gym and Freddie turned him down (there's a thread floating around here somewhere with that).

Of possible interest (though it doesn't contain any Roach quotes, which would have been really helpful and, one would think, journalism 101):

Moorer was a good fighter.A southpaw just like Manny. He had big issues firing up for some unknown reason during a fight.

Atlas tried ways to light a fire under his ass to get him going, and he tried some very unorthodox things that he thought would snap Michael out of his seemingly lethargic attitude. Personally it would of been more helpful if they stuck Moorer in a cage for a week or two before fights and fed him crap food and poked him with a sharp stick to rile him up real good before each fight.I call it cage therapy :smoke lmao

    Any ways......

He is with Freddie Roach because the coach he wants him there. Two sets of eyes are better than one. Mike may see things from a southpaw perspective that Freddie appreciates. Moorer may well end up being a better trainer than he was a fighter if Freddie takes him under his wing. Its good to see an ex fighter getting a break and giving back something to the boys in the wild card gym.....

Theres far too many ex fighters out there that go on to live an empty life after sacrificing years of blood sweat and tears in this sport.Maybe Michaels found a home for himself.:thumbsup
