Fair play to you Darni- your fairly realistic about his abilities and accept his frailties unlike some Joe C huggers on this forum. There's nothing wrong with backing your man and I think he'll become a World Champion in June.

Faisal not good mate... Silly post an your perhaps letting your dislike of Khan get the better of you.

I really am now on the fence about this. If he wins then fair play to the lad. He took a gamble which he's needed to do and if it pays off he should be congratulated. If he wins and then starts fighting decent fighters at Light/Welter then well done. The thing i'm worried about is.... I do not want to see him taking easy fights between 135/140. If he goes back down to 135 whilst being champ at 140 then he HAS to take the big fights there. He cannot take the easier title fight at 140 (which Kotelnik is) then wait until one sanctioning body has a vacant belt at 135 or a weak opponent then go down to take it. He stays at 140 and goes for it or comes back down and fights the best. IF HE BEATS KOTELNIK THAT IS.

Kotelnik is a soft option and very beatable. He was close to been stopped last time out and lacks the speed to make Khan pay. Khan will pick up this title then probably make some dollar fighting a few former champions in moderate form. If you are expecting Khan to be an ATG and have a legitimate HOF career then you will be disappointed. If you are just on for the ride and enjoy watching a sensationally talented, but ultimately flawed fighter dice with danger every time he gets in the ring, then you will love every minute.

Chin will get worse, power will be less effective. My guess.

Your only as good as your worst part... Khan's chin is china.

But, there are a lot who want to see him win, and an equal amount who want to see Kotelnik shut him down. Good for big money.

Khan beat MAB, in my book that's an automatic title shot claim.

I mean going by the anger at Khan's shot, by the same standard Naz should neve have got a shot at RObinson, as he was made WBO mandatory challenger even though he had never fought at featherweight. The WBO made him the mandatory challenger for WBO super-bantamweight title - held by the still unbeaten Barrera. Warren either didn't fancy putting Hamed up against him, or didn't want Naz getting dazzled by the bright lights of the US before he'd established form control over him, so lo and behold, Hamed becomes Robinson's mandatory. I still maintain that fight ultimately was what caused Hamed's legacy to be less then what it could and should have been.

Truth is though, how many British champions can really be called great? Vey few have taken on the very best from the other side of the pond and beaten them regularly. Apart from Lewis, I can't think of any who did

if any 1 knows how good khan is its himself, dispite the knockdowns against non punchers and eventual knockout he still thinks hes good enough to fight for a title and headline big PPV, one would have thought he'd have learned from the mistakes and decided to put any world title ambitions on hold for atleast a couple of years, (he can still fight at a decent level and durability may improve along the way)
ppl blame warren for this but khan and his family particularly is father and uncle
need to bare some form of responsibility after the berrara fight it was like khan forget that berrara had a cut over his head and he'd just beaten a prime version of the fighter, after hearing some of his comment about kotelniks its obvious hes taking the fight lightly thats part of the reason why i think kotelnik will end him

Faisal, can I just confirm that, having spent the last three years or so criticising Khan for not fighting higher quality opposition, you are now criticising him for not fighting lower quality opposition?

fighting high quality opposition doesnt automatically mean u have to fight for a world title,
i'm arguing that hes not ready for a world title hes too young his chin is too ****, i'm saying he needs time to build himself up why not prove yourself against solid journeyman/gatekeeper level first he hasnt done that yet then step it up with guys who are ranked in some of the legit governing bodies

Mate, we both know that if Khan stepped up to heavyweight and beat a triple threat tag team of both Klitschkos and Godzilla, you would find some way to claim that it was not worthy of any credibility...

You've already said that, even though you think Kotelnik is too good for Khan, that Khan isn't ready for the fight and won't prepare properly, you still won't give him any credit if he should actually win.

You are absolutely correct, 5lb is not going to make a bit of difference to Khans power....a 70%+ stoppage percentage is ****ing abysmal :-(
