....and it made him anxious to finish fights early.

Does this lessen him in your eyes as a H2H fighter? Does he now lose fights that you thought he'd win?

I dont care about weather or not he had breating problems Holyfield had a heart condition and he was alright, I like Mike no doubt, But I dont think going back and using these excuses are valid.

With out the excuses Tyson is still a bad mother ****er.

Tell me then why he had superb frequency against the likes of Tucker and Ruddock over 12 rounds? :think

If Shannon Briggs is an ATG because he accomplished so much with athsma then Tyson can only go up in stock because he did so much with a lung condition.

    I'm not making excuses.

I'm on about Tyson as a H2H fighter in hypothetical fights, does this change peoples opinions on how he would have done in certain fights?

can you elaborate on his breathing problems?

as a side note, it's amazing how many people 'forget' to breathe in a street fight.

some people don't just punch themselves out, they run out of lungs too.

i have one mate who forgets to breathe (he holds it in) for a period before he realises that he's doing it.....

What's even more remarkable about Tyson's achievements is that he also had poor eyesight (he says he wore glasses). And he has the fat gene.

Not when he actually went the distance a few times and still had as much in the tank as who he was fighting. I can see the point you're making but I don't know what would have needed to happen for him to gas out early.

I am not saying you are, Mike is the one I saw the Doc, I just think that its stupid to use those to gauge where he could have ended up, he is already an ATG and a legand what more could he or any of us want.

Don't forget Mike also said he 'broke his back' after a fight! Unreal!

Mike definitly has an obesity problem. It runs in his family. His sister died grossly overweight and Mike used to blow up easily inbetween fights. He's a naturally big guy no question about that. Probably why he was built like an outhouse.

For a guy with a broken back and couldn't breath he seemed to do OK.

Probably not early on. These childhood breathing things have a tendency to resolve themselves in adolecence. But he probably would have been left with some residual affects and he'll more prone to getting something else down the line.
