Mayweather will fight every welter except Cotto, until he's forced too

After Cotto takes care of business with Clottey this June, I expect Mayweather to by pass this fight as long as he could. This the only fighter right now that I can't see Mayweather beating if it comes off. I'll definetly be taking bets on this one if the fight ever happens.

I don't think he'll go near Williams. But Williams has written himself out of that potential lottery by not having a WW belt and giving the perfect reason not to fight him. Anyway, he could be considered a WW and no way Floyd goes near him.

A PBF return that doesn't include a Cotto or Mosely fight would be pretty silly - why return at your best weight, call yourself the best and not fight the best at that weight? Could easily happen, though.

I'll gladly take a lifetime ban bet with any and every Cotto fan if that fight comes off. Cotto gets whooped on in that fight. Cotto fans are delusional enough to take this bet as well.

Yeah right ... Cotto would be an easier fight than Ricky Hatton was for Mayweather ... and if the money is right, Floyd would fight Wlad Klitschko.

Don't think this guy will duck "money" ...

Believe what you want, its Cotto that wants no part of Mayweather ... if he wanted the fight to happen, he could easily go to Arum and request that fight and call him out.

I think Mayweather has more than proven he can beat anyone in the game. Considering the fight with Mosley and Cotto was pretty close, I would say Mayweather should be favored. I do agree it is the biggest fight in the welterweight division, and Im not sure why he would fight Marquez, instead of picking a solid welteweight opponent for his comeback.

No way Cotto would be easier than Hatton. Cotto punches way harder and has better overall boxing skills than Hatton ever had.

He not only wants money to fight, but he also wants to fight a marketable foe ... Hatton, Pacquiao, Marquez, and DLH are or were just that.

    Shane can't sell a fight
    Cotto can't sell a fight
not to many guys can ... Cotto really isn't back to being a PPV fighter as of yet ... before he lost to Margarito he was on his way but some way or another that fight got messed up.

Mayweather would make even more money if the fighter he was fighting was marketable and or had something to bring to the table.

He would be stupid not to test the waters with Cotto, I for one beleive the beating he took from margarito may have taken something out of him.

He cannot defend the right hand and he doesn't take body punches that well ... add to the fact that he's more "chinny" than Hatton is ...

REally? Only lost once to Margarito's stone gloves, and he cant stop the right hand? More chinny than Hatton? Hes never been hurt at welterweight besides getting beat on by concrete gloves.

If you think Cotto has a chance against Floyd you are delusional.

He handles the extra 7lbs better than Hatton does - but Cotto vs Hatton would be a much more 50-50 fight, either at 140 or 147.
