All true. The reason PAc vs Hatton won't be quite as big is because both guys are generally well-liked.

In Hatton vs. pac there were clear heroes and villains defined, and it's easier to pick up on that, plus, Floyd is black-American and Hatton is white-English, very clear and defined stereotypes, it was almost like Apollo Creed vs. Rocky (or indeed Ricky) Balboa, without the happy ending.

Floyd has really gotten into this habit of feeling fighters out for too many rounds lately. once he feels them out he always realizes the many advantages he has over them and uses it but by then the fight has been made somewhat close and it makes him look bad.

It just won't be like that of course, but Floyd Sr's antics and Freddie's sharp witted replies are pretty entertaining. Don't assume people like them both just because they're "nice guys." The fan-base of each is very extreme in the feeling for their fighters.

Not when he ultimately dominates them. Love him or hate him, the guy is poetry in motion!

    ^^^^ pretty much

to create a perfect match up .. you need the perfect pieces

    peanut butter & jelly
    macaroni & cheese
    mashed potatoes & gravy

manny & hatton are to similar for it to work out like you said

All the more reason Floyd must come back to fight Pacquiao! Now that will be epic!

Good points-this means the build up won't be the same but I'm sure the atmosphere and the fight will be a lot better especially if there are a lot of Phillipinos in the arena as I'm sure there will be

i dont think pac would play to floyds bull****... he's way to peaceful... i dont see him falling for it.. not only that but hes just like so oblivious to whats going on...

pac just seems to be in his own little world doing his thing

i think it will be close to as good because i think the uk fans will back hatton again in full force... i think hatton & his fans view this as their chance @ redemption at the #1 p4p fighter

Hatton didn't rise to Floyd either though,or atleast he thought he never but in my eyes, taking the mic at the weigh in and saying what he said,it showed he was worked up.Hatton thought he had an edge on Floyd mentally,in truth the opposite was true

The fight was one-sided because Hatton won 1 or 2 rounds at best and the fact that PBF was actually toying with ricky for a lot of that fight baiting him to open up so he would get reckless and get easy counters.:deal.

I gotta say if yall knew floyd was gonna whip hatton ahead of time then my hat off to yall you fellas know your boxing. Liek i said I had floyd not being able to hurt that iron chin mofo. ofcourse just basing that off of kostas straights.

walk with me yes it lived up to expectations. not many fights do

Speaking as a Brit I enjoyed the fight, if not the result!
Floyd dominated but treated us to an all round display of skills he hadn't shown for a while, usually preferring to fight more in his comfort zone. It was exciting because, although Floyd did outclass Hatton, Ricky's relentlessness meant that Floyd had to keep it up 100% every second to do it. That created excitement and Hattons growing desperation built the tension up right to the knockout.
