I agree with this guy. The chances of him losing goes up as he starts meeting guys more his size.

A guy who is 6'2" doesn't have much business fighting in a division where most guys aren't any taller than 5'10". Sure, as long as he makes weight it's fare, but how respectable is that? You're beating up little Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and Irishmen. You must feel like a big man, Paul Williams!

I ask you a direct question, and you ignored it. If you don't know the answer, just say so. What exactly did Hopkins do with his footwork. Either answer the question, or stop comparing PW to Bernard freaking Hopkins.

    Bernard has excellent footwork.

The only thing about Paul is that when he goes up against a heavy hitter, he needs to keep his right foot on the outside of the other guy's left foot. If he is agile and disciplined enought o maintain this posture aainst Pavlik, he would have no problem against him.

If he gets lazy and lets KP get set, he could take some bombs. But he has a good enough chin to handle it.

With all this KO talk, no one has ever seen anything to indicate that Paul can't take Kelly's punches. Nothing. Just pure specualtion that he can't. No one has ever seen him staggered or dazed. Only startled when took a surprise shot from Margo, and once when Winky caught him. Never hurt or dazed.

Paul Williams has NOT faced a p4p type puncher in his CARREER! Majority of the time the guy does not use his height advantage over his opponent relying on his workrate. Pavlik is going to be AS tall as him, with more power and almost AS busy as Paul. Pavlik is a heavy handed middleweight and against Paul his concussive power is going to take effect in the later rounds and my prediction is KO or TKO in the 9th.
Against abraham, who has one of the best chins in boxing, one of the best defenses, power good counterpuncher. Paul is susceptible to the left hand, counter hook, which is aa's money punch who carries it until the last second of a 12 round fight. If I were williams manager, I would make him fight a guy like Gaele, mundine or sturm to see how he does before putting him against the top.
Now if Paul starts walking thru pavs or aas power I have NO doubt he beats both due to workrate. THen again I honestly doubt he will.

    I understand what you saying....

But how can you say with absolute certainty that Paul can't take a punch from Pavlik. Really. How can you say that. Pavlik hits hard, but he ain't no sledgehammer. I think his power gets overrated sometime. But like I said before...

    Time will tell.

Neck If you read the last part of my post, I do give Paul props, if he CAN sustain power from pav or aa I do give him an excellent chance of winning, I just don't think he can. And as far as pwill, can we agree he has not faced a puncher yet?

We can agree on that. Magarito is the closest thing to a puncher he has faced.

    So...

He hasn't faced a puncher like KP.
He has never been KD'd before.

How can anyone say for sure he can't take KP's punches?

This isn't necessarily at you, but others who proclaim that he absolutely will not be able to handle it.

Fine on the same topic, how can we say he can if he has never faced a puncher?

    WTF?!

There are weight divisions and not height divisions.

Williams enters the ring well over 147 as a welterweight; so does Cotto, and MArgarito...and just about every top level fighter. Every fight will have a taller fighter and a shorter fighter, jeez...

The taller fighter usually has the longer reach with equals to an advantage, other then that no problems.
