If Arthur caught PW with that half hook-half uppercut, or one of those near perfect straight rights, I think the lights would go out right then and there; a count to 10 KO. Speculating that Paul CAN NOT handle Pavlik's power seems far more sensible than speculating that he can. The Miranda and Taylor KO's get lots of attention, but there are 7 or 8 guys that had never been stopped until KP stopped them. One of them was McKart who was not on Paul's level, but certainly double tough. He is a 6' 1" southpaw who was only down twice in 56 fights, never close to stopped, and Pav had him on his hands and knees struggling to breathe with a single lead right to the body. I keep saying 5 rounds, and I may have the round wrong, but the end result is Paul taking a beating.
As long as we all agree that it is pure specualtion. Nothing fact about it. I will agree that it's more likely that he can't take too many flush shots from Kelly, but I tend to think he can take a few. Enough to keep him afloat the entire fight, because he won't get hit that many times flush by KP. Time will tell my friends... Time will tell.
I know man... But it's highly unlikely. These old farts have very little interest in actually furthering the sport IMHO. Can you imagine what it would do for the moddleweight division if these two faced off? And I honestly don't think either guy would lose too much credit if they lost.
If PW decided that fighting Pav is what he really wants, there is a way around Arum. Just beat Karmazin for the NABF title, and make himself the WBC mandatory.
