If Taylor beats Froch after beating BHop twice?

After Taylor beats Froch, Kessler will be next (hopefully)..

nah not really. Calzaghe beat a few other decent fighters Robin Reid, Eubak etc
Taylor would need a Froch and a Kessler to be above Calzaghe but cant see him doing either

 

No, because Kessler>>>>>>Froch and Calzaghe also beat a number of other good contenders at his own weight (Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Sheika, Mitchell, Brewer, Lacy when he was good). Plus he went abroad a few times. Taylor has beaten two blown up junior middleweights and the shell of Lacy. Plus, has never left home and actually turned down an eliminator v Eastman, and was going to turn down the shot at Froch until Froch agreed to humour him and fight in the U.S.

 

Well B-Hop is JCs best win, and it was massively debatable.

And taylors done that, twice.

the only thing i was left deliberating following that fight is just how disgraceful hopkins's performance actually was!

it was clear cut the first time i watched it and every time since,no way hopkins won that fight,no way.

people are concentrating on the flash knockdown rather than calzaghes workrate which overwhelmed the ex-con to the extent of amateur dramatics and brought about ludicrous and delusional groupie worship, hopkins is a master of dirty tactics and has the ability to make even the greatest fighters look mediocre against him,any one who gives hopkins the decision (like that stupid woman) wants euthanising,it was a disgracefull display, at least calzaghe actually pushed the fight!

p.s it would be a great win for froch,a sure "establishing himself" fight,but he does not have the natural ability of calzaghe nor will he surpass calzaghes standing in my eyes anyway.

 

Neither Taylor nor Calzaghe have beaten B-Hop. You can say they squeezed out a narrow points 'win' depending on how you score fights, putting quantity over quality punches, but neither of the two has 'beat' Hopkins. Oh, and punchstats don't mean s**t.

That said, beating a prime Kessler counts for more than beating Carl Froch.

Hopkins did not 'beat' calzaghe.

 

Kesslers Calzaghes best win, Beating an unbeaten prime supermiddle weight champion that would beat anyone residing at 168lb convincingly, holds more weight for me than a SD win over a spoling Hopkins.

 

I think the Hopkins/Kessler wins are about equal for Calzaghe, depending on if you put more weight on a somewhat past prime but still elite fighter in a close contest, or a prime less proven fighter in a more convincing display.

What is clear is that they are both vastly superior to Carl Froch.

 

No Joe Calzaghe is a fast guy with decent skills,nothing spectacular just an avarage fighter

 

Calzaghe clearly beat BHop. But BHop fought a very dumb fight by his standards. If they met again, I would favour BHop. But the fact is Calzaghe was the dominant fighter in that bout - BHop had better quality punches, but he threw absolutely no quantity. Quality should beat quantity, certainly, but you can't throw next to nothing against a fighter who is swarming all over you and expect to get the nod.

 

Oh, and Calzaghe has the longevity argument over Taylor.
