hatton will be too good and big for pac...physics will be pacs undoing..

hatton will not have as much trouble with the southpaw stance as some suggest.

hatton should NOT in any way be considered pound for pound champion if he beats pac.

hatton stops pac by tko with body shots.

pacs win over delahoya should NOT be used as a point of reference for this fight, delahoya offered no resistance and was very shot...a better point of reference may be the diaz fight.

pac should still be considered pound for pound best even if he loses this fight.
when joey maxim beat sugar ray robinson in the 50's for the world light-heavyweight title he wasnt regarded by anyone, ever, as the pound-for-pound best in the world...but sugar ray always was....reason being that sugar ray was way over his best weight class...if pacquaio loses this he should still be regarded as best in the world.

if pac wins this fight it should be considered one of the greatest achivements in boxing...he should be considered a modern phenomenon.

the 24/7 series seems to show a very very professional camp at the wild card, while hattons camp seems un-professional with mayweather showing up late for workouts and an awful lot of joking and playing around.....so that makes me stop and think if this is the way it is, or just the way its edited by hbo..and if hatton is being prepared properly here..although i am glad he hasnt ballooned up a lot in weight recently..

    anyhoo...

hatton is 3/1 to stop pac...i think thats a massive bet and i think it's the natural outcome here...hatton stops him..
i could be wrong, but its the way i see it..

if pac wins this as a boxing fan i will be very very happy and be very glad to have been wrong...he IS a modern great win or lose here.

    doug out.

I agree with everything bar the P4P thing. If he loses I don't see any choice but to put JMM ahead of him. In fact, I already have Marquez ahead of virtue of beating the lineal champion and then the #1 contender while Pac wasted time beating a paper titlist and weight drained shop worn legend.

I don't think it's one of the best wins either, if it happens, other than that good points.

After reading the first 4 lines, i thought that is a wish list..

I'm a huge pacfan but i believe that this will be a tough fight for pac because of hatton's size and relentless pressure..

    War is inevitable..

size is huge factor, Hatton could drop a guy twice his natural size with one of those rib breakers

so yes its clearly a question of "Can Pac-man keep Hatton off of him?" at distance, its pretty clear what the story would be.

cant wait, THIS is a fight where anything can truly happen

I agree with your points, but I dont think Hatton will be enough to beat Pacman. If he does though I wouldnt be to surprised Hattons very tough.

i see hatton losing because of the Pacman's speed, this guy isn't a big name for no reason, people forget what he does best, hatton is not a quality boxer, he's only had one good win, now you say dela hoya fight was irrelevent, but he fought mayweather not that long ago and pushed him all the way, hatton got schooled by PBF!! so pacman will obviously win, its just how,

Alternately you could consider the on film comments that Freddie Roach has slowed alot as a result of his illness and needs help as somewhat foreboding. Could too many cooks spoil Pac's broth?

Remember also that Roach commented that Pac was being distracted far too often and not training to his full potential and this forced Freddie to shut down the gym every afternoon sending away staff, boxers and well wishers so that Pac would regain his focus.

The occasional joke in Hatton's camp could be seen as confidence and I'm assuming you didn't see the outtakes in which Manny and co chased around another boxer/sparring partner with a tarantula in a lunch box. The poor guy almost shat himself!

Also consider that Hatton came out to Vegas earlier than ever to continue his training and is already in amazing shape. In contrast Manny has been concentrating on buying a second home in LA, a big responsibility and yet another drain on his time and resources.

It's hard to tell from an edited documentary but I am sensing that there is a confidence in Hatton's camp and a slight sense of resignation in Pac's - like they are trying their best against the odds, Roach's illness, new coach and coaching methods and Manny's own lack of focus.

    Time will tell.

Good post. Agree with almost everything except the result. I don't think Hatton will catch Pacquiao a la Castillo. Of course i'm never ruling anything out since Hopkins beat Pavlik....
