Cotto beat Sugar Shane, that's better than anybody Floyd beat in his whole career. And Cotto would destroy Hatton if they ever fought, you should be banned off this site for trying to debate that one. Cotto would also knock Castillo out. I hope we gonna be taking bets when this happens, and you guys think it's funny, but you won't laughing when he kicks Floyds ass.

Haha, i have praise for 99% of fighter's as i'm a boxing fan, i respect every professional boxer at a decently high level as it's a realll hard sport. I agree Floyd would give him a bashing, he's all wrong for Cotto. As i said i think not one of the current WW's could beat him, he's too slick and clever defensivley and know's when to throw a punch, it's tremendously hard to beat a fighter like that.

I have the same thing for Cotto as i have for Pacquiao, i don't dislike them personally as i don't know them, but their hype, fan's, media coverage, etc make a dislike toward's the fighter. People seem to forget Cotto was dropped by Torres, fair enough he's come on leaps since then but at the end of the day his chin is still a tad suspect. He's also got a fake new found confidence after hearing about the Margarito result and probably think's "he only beat me cause' of his stone gloves" but Margarito still took Cotto's best shot's and never went down. In my opinion Floyd would outbox him to a UD or even a late 10th 11th TKO, Cotto fan's can argue all they want, i just hope they're proven wrong.

Funny JLC's best weight is 135 and Cotto can't make 140 let alone 135. With that said JLC is the better fighter and is more accomoplished. P4P I would favor JLC due to his better toughness, inside boxing game and body attack. I also would favor Hatton to beat Cotto at 140. Actually you should be banned for that ridiculous assertion that Cotto is a pressure fighter.:hi:

There are too many questions regarding how this fight will play out. That's why I want to see this fight so much. Mayweather obviously has the better defense, handspeed and footwork, but Cotto obviously has much better power and a more active workrate. Cotto has a great jab and he makes great use of it against speedy fighters. Mayweather also has a great jab and he can use it effectively to the body and head. The Mayweather straight right hand is one of the most accurate in the last 10 years and will be very dangerous against Cotto. The Cotto left hook is one of the most powerful and damaging punches in boxing right now, if he uses his workrate and combination punching effectively, he should be able to land it consistently enough.

The problem with Mayweather is that in his latest fights he has fought mainly by throwing single punches, and to hit Cotto you don't really need to be fast you just need to throw many punches from different angles as was proven in the Margarito fight.

I believe that if Mayweather pot-shots against Cotto he will lose by close SD or UD. But if he comes in with the correct gameplan, Mayweather should be victorious by UD. But the power factor is always there for Cotto. If he hurts Mayweather he will keep attacking until he succumbs to Cotto's pressure or until Mayweather pulls a right hand from hell to stop Cotto for attacking carelessly. Anyway, I think that no matter what, if this fight happens it will be one for the ages. I don't know why but this fight kind of makes me think of JCC against Meldrick Taylor, except that Mayweather is not dumb enough to trade with Cotto if he has the fight on the bag in the 12th round.

    You're contradicting yourself

So how are you going to say "**** the record books" when its factual and then try to pass you bias opinion as a fact???? You're right, everyone has an opinion but you cant try to pass your opinion off as a fact when the record books clearly disproves your opinion wrong!

I think that no matter what game-plan Mayweather brings Cotto will hurt Mayweather the worst he's ever been in a fight. I'm not saying that he will be knocked out or even knocked down, i'm saying that the damage will show on Mayweather's face at the end of the fight, win or lose.

That's bull****. Yea Margo caught Cotto, but he also missed a lot. Margo throws too many punches for a fighter to duck them all. PBF work rate isn't on the same level as Margo's, not many in all of boxing can keep up with Margo. Cotto should have clinch like Mosely to slow down Margo and maybe he would have won. If Cotto wasn't ruined by Margo, I think he beats PBF.

Also, if Castillo was able to hang with floyd, what does a bigger, stronger, more skilled, and harder hitting Cotto going to do?

And its also a known fact that Floyd hurt his rotator cuff and still won the first fight...Why dont you bring up the fact that Floyd handled him rather easy in the second fight...I love how guys always bring up the first fight, but never mention the second fight.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Hatton fans prior to his fight with Floyd. Unfortunately for Cotto, his best punch is his left hook to the body. Incidently, Mayweather's defense is perfectly setup to stop that punch. More bad news for Cotto are his susceptability to right hands and uppercuts. These are two punches that Floyd throws extremely well. I also believe right hands are the best punches with which to hit Floyd. Cotto really doesn't throw right hands all that well. If Cotto tried to box with Floyd, he would get torn up. Even on the inside, Cotto would have a hard time landing that left hook. Cotto's best chance would be to constantly pressure Floyd and hope that he doesn't get hit with too many counters shots. I'm not confident in Cotto's ability to do this.
